My wife and I stayed here between Aug 05 and Aug 09. Shirley greeted us and provided a whole bunch of useful tips and recommendations, everything from transportation to where to eat and what to see. The room was exceptionally clean and everyday she filled up a little basket of treats for us to munch on. The Scottish Whiskey was a nice touch.
The house is about a 20min walk from the Royal Mile and Calton Hill (stunning city views from here and it's free) It's about a10 minute walk to a grocery store and restaurants. One restaurant we absolutely fell in love with was Vittoria On The Walk. If you like Italian food than this is a must visit and it was only a 10 min walk.
If given the chance we would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it if you find yourself in Edinburgh.
Shirley was a class act and a gracious host.

Room was beautifully clean and comfortable. We loved the little extras of whiskey and chocolates, in addition to the selection of teas and biscuits.

My partner and I stayed here for two nights during a visit to Edinburgh to see Riverdance. The house is set on a quiet road off Leith Walk. On arriving at the house we were greeted by a lovely lady called Margaret who warmly welcomed us and showed us to our room which was beautiful. The style of this guest house is traditional with lots of modern and contemporary elements which was particularly evident in our room. It had a gorgeous little snug area down a couple of steps from the main room which led to a beautiful shower room/toilet. Along with tea and coffee making facilities we had little snacks, and some whisky in a mini decanter with cute little glasses. The ambiance in the house is perfect especially when arriving back in the evening as the lighting in the hallway is cosy and welcoming. Our room was immaculate and the bed and pillows extremely comfortable. It was a joy to stay here and we would most certainly return for another visit to Edinburgh.

Shirley provided a map and advice on surrounding eateries and attractions.
Our room was beautifully furnished and we were supplied with a selection of nibbles.

My partner and I had the most wonderful stay this weekend! The house is absolutely stunning… beautifully maintained, spotless, and full of charm. Our room was cosy, peaceful, and had everything we needed - the bed was incredibly comfortable too!

The owner (I’m so sorry I didn’t catch your name!) was incredibly kind and welcoming. She made sure we had everything we needed, gave us helpful tips on getting into town, and let us know she was always available if we needed anything. From the moment we stepped through the door, it truly felt like a home away from home. ☺️

The location was ideal… tucked away from the hustle and bustle, yet just a short walk (or an easy tram/bus ride) to everything.

We’ll absolutely be back and honestly, we wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else. ☺️

Lovely weekend stay
Antler Guest House was ideally located for our weekend stay in Leith.

The No. 11 bus put us practically at the door and having the tram nearby was great.

There are loads of places to eat and drink nearby. We liked the Brunswick Book Club with its heated outside terrace and La Casa (although the latter isn’t ideal for people with hearing difficulties - all hard surfaces means it’s incredibly noisy, but the food was very nice).

Shirley and Margaret are great hosts who took time to make sure we had everything we needed.

The house in general is lovely and our room was very impressive, beautifully decorated and with some really thoughtful touches. My husband in particular enjoyed the ‘wee dram’ that was provided and the information folder was very helpful. For me I was very happy to find there was a proper hairdryer provided, which would save me having to pack my own in future.

Thanks for a lovely stay. We would definitely return.

Cute little B&B
If you want to get away from the touristy vibes of Edinburgh this is a cozy little spot in Leith. Close to all transportation and a short bike ride away from the beach...with that being said the seagulls in the area would not stop squawking even into the night time hours

Yummy delicious cheese and ham toastie and so cheap £2.80 ,Chocolate muffin £1, hot chocolate and coffee everything under the £2,but the only bad thing is that coffee is from that machine that doesn’t make nice coffee like in some cafes...Service was nice!!!

I recently enjoyed a lovely hot and welcoming tomato soup and a yummy buttered morning roll. Just what the doctor ordered on that particularly cold day. The staff were super friendly and made me feel welcomed. There is a wee seated area inside the window, sheltered enough, but having the door open led to a cold draught blowing in, which took away from what was an otherwise very pleasant experience.
