This hotel offers great value for money, and the room size is quite generous for Edinburgh. It's conveniently located, with plenty of supermarkets and restaurants nearby, and it's also very close to the attractions. As soon as you step out, you're immersed in a medieval atmosphere.

Traveling to Edinburgh with my parents, we chose this chain hotel. The room was quite spacious, though there was no kettle. However, they do offer free hot water 24/7. Breakfast starts at 7 AM, but there isn't much variety, just enough to grab a quick bite.

The hotel is very close to the city center, making it convenient to get around. The environment is also quite good. The room is a bit small but very clean. There's no kettle, so I had to go downstairs to get hot water every time, which wasn't very convenient. Breakfast was decent, just the usual British breakfast items.

Good location. Quiet, clean and nice staff.  Used self-check in via tablet which is easy and with no queue. We arrived Edinburgh at the bus station which is just 10-min walk to the hotel.  Two negative points:- no kettle for boiling water for tea or coffee; water pools all over the floor outside the bathroom if you use the rainfall shower head.

The hotel was super accommodating! I asked to switch rooms because the first one wasn't great, and they gave me a new, bigger one. It was really clean too. Breakfast was just okay, but the location is awesome – tons of restaurants and shops nearby. The best part was they stored my bags for free after checkout, which was a huge help. We only stayed for one night and I had a great price deal as well. Based on price, everything was great. Matress was comfortable. I didnt mind, but for light sleeper could be important. What an amazing hotel! The staff were very great and helpful but Kash's customer service was fantastic! A young, lovely guy with fantastic customer service skills. The room was big and clean. From a hotel of this level and price you expect more for breakfast. At least delicious coffee :) and a cup for toothbrushes in the bathroom would not hurt either. By the way, about coffee - if you come at 8 am or later, then while you wait for the waiter with coffee you can sit - what prevents the hotel from installing a coffee machine so that I can serve myself is a mystery. The room is very beautiful. You can see the castle when you book the castle room. It is also very convenient to travel. The airport can be reached directly by bus or tram. The swimming pool and sauna are free. It is only a few steps to go to other places.

The hotel hall is simple but location is pretty good. Walkable from the Waverly station. Room quality and cleanliness is impeccable.

This was my first time bringing my mom back to Edinburgh since graduation, and this hotel was always on my wish list when I was a student. The room offered a view of Calton Hill, and I'd definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit. It would have been even better if the room was on a higher floor. the hotel was so clean and modern, with a really big room -- more than enough for 2 people. the location was so great because it was right beside a theatre and we cld even catch a last minute show there! the hotel was close to our needs ie shopping, sightseeing at the royal mile and city centre.

The room was uncomfortably cold, as if it had been plunged into a deep freeze, and the air conditioning unit was functioning solely for cooling, failing to provide any warmth. It was a small room, and despite my request for assistance to the front desk, I received no follow-up or feedback regarding the situation.

 I was staying in a large room, but there was exterior wall maintenance work going on outside. The windows were completely covered with scaffolding, making it impossible to look outside. After complaining, it took them two days to finally move me to a smaller room, which at least had a view outside. Not good time to stay with them until the construction finish.

The room was pretty similar to hotels back home, though some of the facilities were a bit dated. The shower stall didn't have a door, so water splashed out, and there was scaffolding on the outside of the hotel.

The plugs did not block water egress in either the bath or vanity basin. The No. 2 Lothian bus stops at the door, and this makes it very convenient indeed.

I booked a windowless room, which was quite affordable. The hotel is fully equipped, but it's a bit old, and some areas could use better cleaning. There's also room for improvement in their service. However, it's very close to the city center, so it's a good option if you're not too concerned about the ambiance.

Novotel Edjnburgh is best hotel i must admit either comfortwise, cleanliness, leisures provided and most importantly location wise and a beautiful mountain view with snow covered from room. Adiitionally you will find major shops nearby 5 mins walk boyh food and amenities/cloth
