Folk Inn Ontario Airport in Ontario

They haven't updated their website in two years, so they don't have free airport transportation or the continental breakfast. The room said non-smoking, but had a strong cigarette smell inside. The upholstery on the couch was torn. The pictures are screwed unevenly in the wall and there were broken tiles in the bathroom. We did not feel safe. When we left in the morning there was dog poop in the lobby and outside the front door, which I understand is more of a resident problem but still shocking. The outside was cute and one of the employees was nice, but overall the experience was uncomfortable and disappointing.

The actual hotel was amazing. Probably underrated. Breakfast was perfection. Why only 1 stars. I was harassed by the local police that drove through the parking lot as I was sitting in my truck having a smoke. They asked me tons of personal questions, had me hand over my license and registration, and wanted to know why I was at the motel. Their sorry excuse for this was because I didn't have a tag on my car. It's California, it's not uncommon for to see a car without a tag. I had just purchased the truck less than 24 hours prior. They told me that cars left in hotel parking lots with no tags are usually stolen and abandoned. But it was not abandoned, I was sitting there minding my own business having a smoke. AT 3 IN THE AFTERNOON.

This place is not safe for any family and not relaxing at all. It’s HORRIBLE! I understand this place is old but it shouldn’t even be kept open for people to stay in if they can’t keep up. First off, it says there are no pets allowed in this hotel. But coming in from the back there is a huge dog inside by the doorway/hallway and is barking at us. We had to walk around to find another entrance. Getting into our room finally and air conditioning is not working so well. The floor lamp doesn’t even have shades on it. We will be ok with it but I notice that the fridge has been totally pulled out of the cabinet. We checked if it was working and we found a moldy hotdog inside and the whole room just stinks of it! Right when we are about to get out to ask for another room, there is a live cockroach! My family (with 2little kids) are just coming from a whole day of fencing. We asked for another room and given this place another chance and we told them about the problem. We were given the room across from the first one and it’s just not cutting it. The lamp is flickering at its worse, the bathroom toilet paper holder is broken, exhaust about to fall and the window’s safe lock is a piece of wood! We left this place as soon as possible. I have traveled and stayed at so many places but never ever experienced a hotel as bad as this one. PLEASE LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE AND NEVER STAY AT THIS PLACE.

It was okay, the room is what you expect. There was a pee stain on the floor but we ignored it. Staff were okay, mostly on their phones. Just when it was our checkout day, it was 10 and they opened the door asking if we were leaving. Check out is at 11, so we had time. Never experienced that in a hotel so I was shocked and upset.

Don’t ever stay at this family owned hotel .
They are from another country and the whole family is loud and dirty .
Nothing in the hotel works and the ice machine broken in the middle of Summer.
Kids in diapers running up and down the halls screaming . No supervision and dirty floors .
Too many better choices then this hotel that all family members live in full time .
Disgusting !
