Southpoint Suites Hotel in Jacksonville

First time here & it was a bust. We came to celebrate a friend’s birthday and we waited for 3 going on 4 hours for our table. We only stuck around because of our friend. Meanwhile, we were at the bar ordering drinks and food. The bar is where it’s at! Fast & great service! When we finally got to our table, it just went downhill. Our server didn’t come to our table when we had settled, it was after 10-15 mins he finally showed up. Also, when we sat down the table wasn’t cleaned off entirely and the rag was still sitting on our table. A little bit unsanitary. There were 13 of us, and when our waiter attended to our table taking orders he only took half and then left for five minutes then came back and took the other half. Kinda odd. Then we noticed that one of the servers kept coming by our table and asking if the food was ours, sometimes yes and sometimes no. Shouldn’t they know which table the order goes to? Then, one of my friends ordered the loaded cheese fries. It looked nothing like the picture and the food was cold! Cold like it was brought out of the freezer and microwaved for 20 secs COLD! I don’t blame the service, I do however blame the kitchen. I’m not sure if they’re understaffed or not, but it was terrible. Probably my last visit.

Food was good and decently priced. The Vegetarian Mushroom burger is great! Games were pretty excellent too, but kind of high on the prices. They use a weird token system that probably tries to coax you in to spending more. Not bad overall.

The facility was rightfully busy and as such the kitchen was in what appeared to be a hurry. We sent several orders back as they did not come to the table as presented in the menu. As an upscale facility I hold places like this to a higher standard to help me justify the price of the entire evening lol.

Wait staff was fantastic and understood and quickly corrected all issues as they were presented.

It was still a terrific evening and we will return.

We went for a business lunch on a Monday. It wasn't packed at all and we didn't play games. I did walk the game room floor and it was a mess!!!! It stunk like no one had cleaned the carpet in years or aired the place out, ever. I was shocked. I would not waste my money in the place.

As for my intended reason for being there, lunch. It was decent. I had the steak and shrimp linguine. The waitress was very attentive to the 11 of us. She was very nice and took our orders and brought the food out effectively. Not one complaint was made.

Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. Would I go out of my way for the food, no. It puts you in the mind of Applebee's, Fridays or something like that. All of which are not my favorites. I don't dislike them, but I don't go out of my way to spend my money there either.
