Great room for the price. Quiet and clean. This is a no frills motel which I expected. The staff is very nice and will take care of you. The coffee is better than most coffee shops.
Good experience. Mostly quiet room. Would have liked a better TV and guide. Would have liked thicker walls. The room was clean and there was plenty of space, towels, and tissues for everything I actually needed for my two night stay.
The person working the front desk when I checked in about 9:30pm Friday night was fantastic, friendly, conversational. Kicked off my weekend with a smile.

I was not impressed with the cleanliness of our stay. The carpets were tore up and stained. The bedding was old. There was no fridge. We also found a bug in our bed.. not impressed at all compared to the other motel 6 we have stayed in.
Front desk was very nice, but when I got to the room there were no sheets on the bed and the blanket and spread were on the table. I was so tired, I just went ahead and got an extra blanket that I always carry in my car, after I called the front desk and we couldn't just go pick up sheets but would have to move the entire room. Which sort of no big deal like I said I was tired. However in the morning I got up and went in the bathroom, no towels soap or Etc either. Again, front desk was very nice and was friendly when he told me to pick up more sheets, but quite frankly I could have stayed in my car and it not cost me anything. I will say that the room was clean, and it was very quiet at the motel
When I checked in, I was informed that the $50 fee I expected would be $60 because there were two of us. I made the reservation online where I was unable to increase the number of persons. Only the number 1 showed up. I would have chosen another hotel if I had known the cost was $60. When we walked into the room it was stifling hot. There were no indicators on the control for heat to show a temperature. The windows would not open. We left the door open but did not feel comfortable doing that when we went to sleep even though the room was still hot. I got ready for bed and found there was no soap in the room. I called the front desk and that person said I could come down and get some. I was already in my night clothes, our room was in another building and it was 20 degrees out. The toilet flushed but did not carry the waste away.
This wasn’t the newest the nicest Motel 6 I’ve stayed at, but it was fine for the number of days I stayed. I stayed in the room a lot because of the weather. The staff were good about refilling my linens when I asked. I started in room 129, but it didn’t have a remote and apparently couldn’t be replaced. Then they moved me to 244, which smelled horribly and not on the 1st floor as I had requested. Then, for some reason, they found that 130 was open and next door to 129! That room was fine. I lived in Des Mounes for years and visited for years until my mom passed 3 years ago. Several times my flight out was very early in the morning so I stayed at this Motel 6. It seemed a bit old and not updated outside which made my think it had turned into a rundown motel. Inside the room was better than the outside.
We were treated well. The night manager, Brandon Rivers, was very amiable, friendly and helpful. The first room had a few problems, so Brandon gave us another one with no problem. The rooms were clean. We enjoyed our stay. Next time we are in DSM, we will definitely stay at hotel 6 again.
Room was clean, front personnel great, convenient location near the airport, restaurants and grocery store, but little to noisy because of too near of airport. At 2 am another noise waked me up as about six police cars came in to arrest somebody. Morning some crazy girl was loudly screaming fighting her companion.
Door did not fit to the frame, so I did not know that I did not close the door completely after leaving, twice. It need it hit it and pull it harder to close.
Motel was hard to find it, the sign is not too visible. Price was good.

The hotel felt nothing above average given the price we paid. The room was a bit out dated and our TV did not work. No space really to put our clothing and our bolt on the door was missing leaving 3 holes in the door.while leaving the latch still attached to the frame. It was clean and the staff was about average not really going out of the way but also not ignoring us. They would say hello if we seen them so not bad service. Its just a old hotel that needs to be updated and given the People it attracts some more security. We had a guy asking for weed and said he was going to steal my dog in the parking lot. Not really helping that the parking lot isn't really lit well and that I didn't see much in the way of theft deterrents in the parking lot. So that didn't help that much for the score. Again you get what you pay for so for just an over night stay on the fly not too bad.
I really like the people who work here, always so nice. I really would LOVE to see the rooms clean though. I had 129 and the bathroom floor and carpet were super gross. And the room had been smoked in.
Good location with the Hy Vee and Perkins next door. My only complaint really is the rooms are in desperate need of a deep cleaning or a remodel. Carpet is black with dirt, and the rooms smell like smoke. Beds are broken down and swayed. I like the fact I can open the window, but the screen was missing.
