One of the worst stays i've had at a hotel.

It all started at the check-in. I get there around 2:45. I had reserved the player's suite. I'm told its not ready yet and that it has to be cleaned but that they were on it right away and that i'd be CALLED as soon as it was finished. An hour goes by and no call. I had to go back myself and inquire about it to a very rude male staff member who had had his head down (studying I guess?) since the last time I went to the front an hour prior. I could barely comprehend his grumbles as he handed me my keys.

Biggest irritation is what follows after. I go about my day at the casino and do some gambling, get some drinks, etc.. About 4-5 hours go by and I go back to my room to order room service. They get to my room with the food and ask for my ID. Oops, can't find it! Well, it turns out it was at the front desk the whole time. Not ONE employee thought to text/email me to notify me that my ID was at the front counter?! I'm just blown away by the incompetence of the staff at the front desk. TWICE, they failed to call me when they SHOULD HAVE. I was stressing out, looking for my ID all over my room when it dawned on me it was at the front. I just can't believe all the staff up front are so inconsiderate/inexperienced at their jobs that they were UNABLE to contact me. They had my contact info!

Needless to say, I will NEVER stay at this establishment again for the completely unprofessional and inept staff.

I have been coming here for 30 years now. My biggest complaint with this hotel is the elevators. Only a couple work. Not sure what the deal is there. It’s not for a lack of money. So many escalators are out of service also. I had foot surgery earlier this week and found this very irritating. It doesn’t make sense. People will be waiting and waiting for an elevator just to get to their room. I expect better. After spending New Years in Vegas, these little issues are more noticeable to me.

I really debated about giving this place if 4 or 5, but in the end it ended up a 4 because the food options are really limited and there was no hot tub or spa, at least not right now. Would have been appreciated in the winter to have a hot tub. I had a room facing the mountains and it was absolutely gorgeous, clean and did not smell like some Casino rooms. Nice selection of slots, had a little bit of nostalgic feel but with some updates. I appreciated that it's all connected to the Silver Spur and Circus Circus which do have some more food options. The lady let me know there is a hot tub at the Silver spur, but I did not want to go trekking around in my bathing suit.

There are much better options in Reno for hotels! The ED’s sister casino, Silver Legacy, is much nicer. Our non-smoking room smelled like an ashtray, the water for the shower was lukewarm and did not drain, the curtains did not cover the entire window (letting light in all night), the white sheets were grey, and the bartender at a small video poker bar told he was too busy to take our order. Also, check in was a nightmare. The line was long, the check in kiosks were not functioning because of poor cell phone reception in the area, and only a few elevators were operating. There is free parking and Strata is an enjoyable dining experience. We visit Reno many times a year, but will never come back to ED except to park. Update: we complained and were moved to another room. We soon learned that Reno has no noise ordinance downtown. I want to thank the considerate person with massive speakers in the back of his Tahoe who played music all night (both nights) in the parking lot across the street. Those speaker provided for a soothing massage throughout a sleepless night. NEVER AGAIN!

Location is right in downtown, the connection to all the other casinos is pretty cool. The building is definitely on the older side so it comes with a grain of salt. The room wasn’t amazing by any means but everything was clean and worked as it should so besides being a little old the hotel was pretty good.

The other hotels beat el derado out on food but since they are connected it’s a simple walk to the other side!

Overall enjoyed our experience here

Overall, I don't have major complaints about the rooms themselves here. A little dated in some aspects, but the stay was fine, if a bit spartan for the price per night we paid. However, it was things like the pool closing at 7:00 pm, the constant second hand smoke (at least not in the room) and the typical "gotta walk through the casino" feel for it all. Definitely trying to be a little Vegas experience, but maybe just go to Vegas. Cost seems pretty close, but at least the pool stays open after dark?

Worst experience ever! Do not stay here. Rooms are all dated, very dirty, not worth time or money. Don’t advertise nice looking rooms when that isn’t what we are even going to be able to sleep in. The first room they put us in, the air conditioner wasn’t working. Suffered all night. They finally moved us the next day. Wasn’t any better. Room was dirty and you can smell smoke coming through the vents. Finally cut our vacation short and checked out a day early. When we tried to complain they weren’t very helpful.

This is being sold as a 4 star hotel. But it is
Not. Its a very nice 3 star with lots of good food/ restaurants. Great cafe also. But the pool is tiny and offers limited shade protection. There are cigarette butts and cans all around the property. There are no smoke free areas. Fixtures and furniture are from the 1970s. Its quite charming and in a great area.

I love my stay there. Went to visit family and got a room. Room was clean but not as big as I would have liked. Video poker machines were hot for me. The VIP Gold room had awesome drinks too. Friendly staff.
