Motel 6 Reno - Virginia Plumb in Reno

We recently stayed at this Motel 6 on our July road trip. We booked day-of, so didn't have that many options. Neighborhood was sketchy. Pool was closed and green. The sidewalks outside of the hotel were sticky, disgusting messes. They could do a lot to improve the appearance of the hotel just by power washing the sidewalks. We found cigarette ash on the bathroom counter of our non-smoking room and an EKG sticker in the bathroom. The hotel clerk was very apologetic and was willing to change the rooms, but we were already unpacked and given the liquor bottles scattered around the property, I didn't have high hopes for any other rooms, plus he didn't have any more 2 rooms with 2 beds. Other than that, the rooms were generally big enough and the beds were clean.

I stayed from a Friday night to Sunday. The rooms were not appealing. The door had been kicked in before n was never changed just repaired. Safety issue for me. The doors would not open properly. The would stick. They were very outdated. I will never again waste my money on this place. I went to office to complain the lady at desk was rude and kept talking to another customer while helping us. I had asked her 3 times to finish with me before she interacted with the other customer. She continued talking with him until I got upset n yelled. It was my birthday weekend n wanted to celebrate but was disappointed in this place. I would appreciate a refund of some kind. I asked the lady at the front desk n she said she couldn't help me with that. I'm very upset with the service the motel and the ambiance of the place. The night we got there there were cops called on people on the parking lot that were not patrons of the motel. The van stayed in the parking lot till Sunday morning. They were not patrons n should not have been there. I was concerned for my safety with them as they seemed to be druggies. Also the safety of my vehicle. Absolutely horrible.

Made a reservation for single queen, Non-Smoking room. When I first went to check in the lady at the front desk told me there was only smoking rooms available and to come back in an hour. I came back in an hour and a different person said they had a room ready for me. I asked if it was Non-Smoking to confirm. He said that all the rooms were Non-Smoking. I got my key and headed to the room, there was a sign on the room door that said no smoking. I walk in and the bed was not made and the sheets were dirty. Beer cans were all over. A used ash tray was sitting on the bathroom counter. There was weed in the toilet. This room had obviously not been cleaned and was certainly not a Non-Smoking room.

The walls didn't block any sound and the location is right next to a shady dispensary.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and I will never stay at a Motel 6 again.

2 Stars at it's best. Excellent if you are staying one night. I do not recommend staying here for a length of time over 2 days. You will not have clean towels or your trash token out. I've been here over 2 weeks and have had to request every night when I get off work from a 12 hr shift for towels and trash bags! My room has only been serviced once and only because I spoke with a manager but yet the problem continues.
We have multiple rooms here and we all are ha ing the same issues. Once addressed with the gentleman at the front desk he was completely rude and obnoxious and even stating that he wasn't even worried about it!!!
On the plus side house keepers are truly friendly.
