After searching for places to stay overnight in Albuquerque, we were so glad to find this cute bed-and-breakfast! Darlene was very friendly from the moment we spoke on the phone, even when we explained that we weren’t sure we could make it to Albuquerque from Arizona that day. She reserved a room for us just in case, and we were so glad we made it.

The bed and breakfast felt very homey and cozy, and our 10-month-old was thrilled to explore all the house decorations. The breakfast was delicious (the omelet was fire!), and the hot tub on a cold night was incredibly relaxing. We also met her family, and they were sweet and welcoming. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Albuquerque!

Darlene and Phil were great! They made us feel so welcome. The Red Horse B&B was so relaxing, and we felt like we were staying with well-known friends. We visited back in the summer of 2021, and I never did post a review. I hope that we can visit again in 2026.

I just visited Red Horse for the second time this weekend. This place is an absolute oasis to visit. Impeccably clean rooms with gorgeously appointed bathrooms and all the touches of home. They make it easy to keep up with all the little fussy things that make a place feel like home: coffee (and cream in the room's mini refrigerator), a filtered water/ice refrigerator where I can fill my yeti cup for the day's outing. Anyone who maintains such beautiful quilts, antiques, and little decor touches is cleary taking EXCEPTIONAL pride in what they do. And Darlene and Phil and even long-term resident Carl are absolute gems. I waited to write a review until my second stay only because I had to skip breakfast the first time, but the food was spectacular, too. Green chile omlette, sausage, and the baking these people do!!! Freshly baked apple cake (made with home grown apples), plus peanut butter cookies for the road (last time they sent me off with apple cobbler!) Just a lovely experience all around.

Exactly as we imagined a bed and breakfast would be! The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. Our visit was very relaxing, and our small dog was welcomed. Only stayed one night but would love to make this a destination stay in the future!

The room was clean, comfortable, and had all amenities we might need during our stay. The rest of the B&B was beautifully decorated and well kept. The Red Horse Family was attentive and accomodating during our whole stay and they made sure we had everything we wanted or needed. Thank you to everyone who helped make our trip a pleasant one!

This is a very unique property.. It is a family farm that is run by the daughter and grand daughter of the original owner. It is filled to the brim with family history and keepsakes. There is a story behind each item. The innkeeper is welcoming and full of stories about her family and her inn. They were very willing to make adjustments with early and/or late arrivals. Wonderful experience.

Another rave review for Red Horse BnB, where to start? A family farm turned into a warm, welcoming home away from home. Everyone we met felt like old friends, a welcome and tour from Phil, breakfast welcome from Cita and her husband Ralph (yes that fabulous breakfast and never the same one twice!!). And finally Carl who brought his Swedish family to New Mexico and Darlene who pursued her mom’s dream of a bed and breakfast. Everyone focused on our comfort and needs. Couldn’t ask for more! Hope to return someday. We had a great time in ABQ and always looked forward to coming “home.”

Absolutely phenomenal stay at the Red Horse. You will truly feel like family while staying here. It is a sanctuary and such a perfect respite during my incredibly long and exhausting trip across the country. The hot breakfast was delicious, the room was beautifully decorated and clean, and the property was peaceful and quiet. I will absolutely be back. I highly recommend staying here as true bed & breakfast experiences are becoming harder and harder to find.

This is my second stay at Red Horse. I loved it both times. Darlene and Phil are such good people. The house and grounds are beautiful. The room and linen were super clean and the bed was VERY comfortable. I slept like a baby. I enjoyed sitting outside during the nice cool evening in the South Valley. In my opinion Red Horse offers the best value and experience compared to any B&B and I would not hesitate to stay here anytime I'm in Albuquerque. Thank you Darlene and Phil for allowing me to stay with you again. And thanks for the yummy peanut butter cookies and coffee for my drive home!

The staff including the chef treated us like family and very knowledgeable of the area which was very helpful to us. The room was like new and fully up to date with beautiful decor. I would not hesitate to stay again
