Samarkand Standart Guest House in Samarkand

Hospitality in action! Hot shower. Western toilet. Comfy bed. Good breakfast. Shafkut welcomed me with open arms. I popped in unannounced during a cycling expedition, and Shafkut gave me a special rate for two nights. I wanted to stay a third, but they were already booked so Shafkut walked with me to his friend’s hotel up the road. I wholeheartedly recommend this place and will stay here again when I return.

It seems this property has a rating that is not accurate due to a spiteful past guest; I spent 4 nights here and found it to be incredible value. So close to Registan and an easy and cheap Yandex from the other attractions in Samarkand. My room was tidy and climate controlled with good wifi and cordial service at the desk. Of course it is a guesthouse and not a true hotel, with children and family milling about, but even as a sometimes grumpy-when-disturbed solo traveller this didn’t bother me at all. Because of the timing of my arrival, various tours and my departure, I did not get to experience the breakfast so I can’t comment on it, but everything else was terrific and I would recommend it wholeheartedly!

Close to Registan Square, close to restaurants, close to shops, the hostel staff are friendly, and while they don't speak English, you can communicate with them using a translation app.

I stayed at this hotel in February, 2025 and must say that overall I enjoyed this day.

I was warmly welcomed by the host who personally greeted me when I checked in. He was extremely kind, courteous, and caring – I can’t say enough good words. I felt like I was visiting family.

The hotel is located adjacent to the family home. There are probably about 10 rooms each of which has its own private entrance and lock. Each room has a single/double bed as well as its own bathroom. In addition to the bed, there is a flatscreen television and Wi-Fi Internet included.

The hotel located a short 10 minute walk from the famous Registan historical site. There are many facilities, nearby, including convenience stores, restaurants, taxis, bakeries, etc. The hotel is very well located and convenient.

The price is also very reasonable. I paid 15 USD per night which was more than fair. A great value!. This is extremely safe, quiet and comfortable perfect for solo travellers and everybody else. I stayed here for four nights in total and would definitely stay here next time I’m in the city. overall, I definitely recommend!

Very cute, family-run place that is only about 1.5 years old. Basic but comfortable and clean rooms. Very kind hosts and wonderful, large free breakfasts. Incredible value. I would definitely stay here again.
