Gulnara Guesthouse in Tashkent

I was there and I can tell you that it's a very nice place to stay.
Also, it was VERY clean!

Gulnara Guesthouse is a real gem! A peaceful oasis in the middle of bustling Tashkent. The rooms are simple, spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean. The courtyard is wonderful and welcoming. The owner and staff were all super nice and helpful. And I loved the location: near the Chorsu Bazaar (and the Chorsu metro stop).

I arrived early morning and was well-received - I paid for breakast while the room was being cleaned, and it was one of the best for my two-week trip staying in guesthouses. Room was spacious and comfortable enough, although pillows were too thick for my taste. There was soap but no shampoo, but it's one one of the few guesthouses that had "regular" toilet paper! It's close to one metro station and for 27 EUR a night in the capital, I think it was great value and I was happy to come back on my last night before departure.

Such a lovely place! Traditional clean rooms surrounding a sleepy courtyard with fig trees for shade (and for figs!) and lots of seating, including traditional tables where you can sit cross-legged (they also have standard style tables). The hosts are delightful, and can arrange airport pickup. Chorsu Bazaar is a moment away (I would not advise this metro station after dark if you're alone - there is no lighting there at all - there's one a small bit further on which is almost as close). Overall I'm really happy I stayed here and felt very welcome in my first days in Uzbekistan.

Conveniently located 10 minutes away from the Chorsu Bazaar and metro station. Staff was very nice and speak good English. The rooms were spacious, clean and they have air conditioning and a fridge. The breakfast was amazing and it's served in the lovely courtyard where you can relax at the traditional tables. Would definitely stay again if I come back to Tashkent.

Right now I'm helping some foreign scientists who came to Uzbekistan to give lectures about history.
They are staying in Gulnara Guesthouse and I visited them here. Nice, quiet and clean place with historical atmosphere. I think this guesthouse was built some hundred years ago. You can recognize that almost all the furniture's from the Soviet union period, except electronics. The thing that I don't like is guesthouse provides only a breakfast and doesn't have a inside cafeteria or something like that. The closest restaurant is 15 minutes away.

Lovely hosts, delicious traditional breakfast. Rooms were clean. The courtyard is lovely for relaxing outside in the evenings. The location is convenient for the metro and chorsu market, with some great local food options.
