The room was very clean and the wifi was strong. The family is very friendly and take care of their host very well. The dad dropped us to the bus station in the evening. The location is also very good cause you have a market just in the street where the hotel is. Very good value for the price. I recommend it.

Guess it's not too late to write a review for Thu Guesthouse since I promised to do so but totally forgot. I very much enjoyed my two-night stay here, in January 2015 if I recall correctly. The guesthouse was up to my expectations as a frequent traveler, clean, tidy and affordable. As family-run, the guesthouse provided me with a friendly atmosphere in which I enjoyed conversations with most of the family members. Kiên - the son of the guesthouse owner - was quite knowledgeable about the local attractions and very helpful giving me good tips about the transportation in the area. Hope to come back one day soon!
Below are the pictures I took two years ago...

The guest house is quite alright. A couple of cups were dirty and a bit sad they didn’t offer tea/coffee having cups and a kettle. For this price it could be included. But stuff is very nice and helpful. I also got a nice price for ordering a bus there

Good place to stay in Ninh Binh for backpacks
It’s a homestay and with nice service.
But don’t have elevator.

Staff were kind, speaks some English. It’s budget so don’t expect too much. Could do with a hairdryer maybe. Motorbike rental outside and a cheap supermarket shop across the road that only takes cash. We had quite a few flies In the room but it wasn’t too bad.
