Except for cleaning staff, the staff were very helpful. It is just that the entire place needs a deep clean.

The hotel itself is on the main street. Location wise is superb. But the room is not clean especially the window ledge. I believe they have never clean it for years. The room has no chair to sit. So i have to sit on my bed. Room also has no kettle for boiling water. The television has no channel. My room is 705 on the 7th floor. On the first day the elevator was not working

The owner/manager gave us great service. He went out of his way to help us book excursions and gave us information on what to do in Cat Ba. And he gave us a fair price on our rooms. Rooms were clean and adequate for the price. Excellent location. Delicious restaurants all around.

The air-con was bad, everything was dated (the toilet and bathroom were that horrid light green you only see in old 40s-50s homes today). The television was also really bad, no more than 15 inches and with a poor signal.

That being said, the location was GREAT right beside the water and bar scene, and the beds were comfortable.
