Beach, nice pool, nice breakfast. Overall a very nice place.
Negative : people from all over the area come to this beach so it's not only for the hotel residents (they pay, but they are a lot).
You can definitely feel the age of this hotel..
Way too expensive for what you get considering you are in Vietnam.

Amazing view nice stay
Lovely modern hotel ran by a nice family. The rooms are very spacious and have an amazing view of the bay. It's a little far from cat ba centre, 20-30min walk with a lot of incline and down cline! Not many restaurants and cafes around so you have to walk into centre for 'western' food and more options. It can also get noisy with the docks opposite and noise from neighbouring local shops. The hotel itself has potential of being 4* but some rooms are still being renovated so there was noise of drilling etc but if you're out all day it isn't a problem, it's quiet at night. TV I'm the room has Netflix so it's nice to relax in a big rooms after a long day on boat trips. Also book tours on cat ba it's cheaper then booking from Hanoi! The owner has a tour company too and offers good packages.

Customer service was awesome as the people were friendly and were willing to accomodate our commands. My only concern was that the hotel rooms on the first floor which I rented smelled weird. Switched to the rooms on the second floor and that was much better! It was an average experience in overall even though the price was a bit much for a seemingly old place (due to the holiday season I suppose).

Good view of the bay. Nice beach in front. The swimming pool is a big bonus. Rooms are spacious but services are just ok.

Dated but good maintained resort. The food was good as well. The beach in front of the hotel is full of locals. It's noisy and inconvenient.

Wonderful hotel. Either get a scooter from the hostel just down the road for 100k dong per day or grab a golf cart to the town for 10k pax each way. Restaurant not good though - overpriced and low quality.

Any time outside of that and there's a good chance of having the beach almost to yourself, especially outside of summertime and peak season. Staff is friendly and quick. Like most places in Vietnam no one will check up on you, you just need to call over anyone who is in uniform. Nice vista path nearby for some beautiful photos. It's one of the busier beaches right now, especially since beach 2 is closed for construction. Still quieter than beach 1.

Yes, this place is clean but that's all it has to offer. The food and drinks here are the worst we had in Southeast Asia AND everything was triple the price (the fried rice had so much salt in it, we couldn't finish it) . The woman at the front desk was rude to us on multiple occasions. She treated us as if we weren't worth her time. When we asked to rent a motorbike, she laughed at us before telling us the price. We told her we would rent tomorrow and asked what time we could do that, she advised we come back after we eat breakfast. After breakfast and getting ready, we came down to rent the bike. Once again, she blew us off and told us that we would have to wait 15 minutes. When she saw that we were angry, she told us to come back and that she could help us now. This is the most expensive place to stay on Cat Ba and this type of service is unacceptable. If you want to be a GENUINE resort, you need to improve your food and drinks to match the price you are charging and train your staff on customer service.
