A Gem in Saigon – The Lumiere Hotel

I stayed at The Lumiere for 20+ days during my journey in Vietnam, and I couldn’t have chosen a better place. The hotel was recommended by my hospital (Gangwhoo), and the location was perfect — just a few minutes’ walk, 2–3 corners away. For me, being close to the hospital was my main concern, and this place gave me that peace of mind.

The rooms are simple but very clean, with daily housekeeping (I chose every other day). There’s a small refrigerator, sink, table, closet, bed, and bathroom — everything a traveler needs. Security is always present, and I felt completely safe leaving my luggage. They even have a scale to weigh your bags up to 30kg, which was such a helpful bonus when preparing for my flight.

What made this stay unforgettable was Becky — a young sweet woman, fluent in English, always welcoming with a kind smile. She was the one person in the building who could answer all my questions and help with anything I needed. From translating, arranging hand-wash laundry, or simply being a friendly face when I felt lost, she was truly an angel during my stay. Becky is honest, trustworthy, and a real asset to this hotel. I hope management knows what a treasure she is.

Other extras: the hotel is close to Vietcombank (great for exchanging money), and right outside there’s a vendor selling delicious Vietnamese coffee. Checkout is at 12 PM, but they let me leave my bags with reception until I headed to the airport, which was another big plus.

For $15 a night, the value is unbeatable. Clean, safe, convenient, and made special by Becky’s care. Thank you, Becky, for making my 30 days in Vietnam feel comfortable, supported, and memorable. You are truly a gem, and God bless you.

This is my fifth review of this hotel. I highly recommend this place for travelers. There is a great receptionist working here. She is very helpful and friendly. She speaks English very well. Highly recommend!

The room is roomy and I like the neighborhood. The hotel is located on a small side street so it’s quiet and peaceful but only a few houses away from the busy and noisy Công Hòa Blvd with all the conveniences. The day time security guard is helpful and friendly but the night security guard is a lazy punk and doesn’t wear uniform.
