Tufenkian Avan Dzoraget Hotel is a beautifully architected hotel along the Dzoraget river. It feels and looks more like a castle, which is a positive thing. At night, with all its lights turned on, it phoyographs beautifully, especially when its image reflects on the river. The lobby is unusually high, which is impressive. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and you can walk inside the hotel grounds parallel to the river for a good kilometer, passing by houses and high-rise residential units until you reach the highway. The room is basic but lighting was very good, with a floor lamp and modern night lights over the night stands. The T&B, though small, is decent, with a shower head above the tub. They even had clear instructions on how to use the faucets. The wash basin was stainless steel set over the counter top – first time we’ve seen such since most of the time, they’re ceramic bowls. Unfortunately, there was only one dispenser in the shower – shampoo, no body wash. We were impressed with the service. My wife requested for a smaller pillow and a housekeeper immediately brought us one. We requested for wine glasses and they even asked if we were drinking red or white. Wow! Then at breakfast, which we asked to be readied by 8:30, the table was indeed already set up at 8:30 with the cold cuts, veggies, butter, cheeses, breads. We then had a choice of hot dish and these were promptly served by the cook-waitress. The overall service really impresses!

I recently stayed at Tufenkian Avan Dzoraget, this was the first time I travelled solo, and overall I had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is perfect for anyone who wants a quiet escape from the noise of everyday life and work. The rooms and common areas were clean and comfortable with plenty of secluded places to sit, work, relax or just admire the Debed river. The pool was clean, the sauna was available most of the time, and the staff were always nice and friendly, ready to help with anything I needed. I had only 4 days, but I was able to fully relx and rechage. I am definitely coming back again for a longer period. One thing I did not see if there were any playrooms or facilities for children (I did not need any). But if you are travelling with little children it might be a good idea to check if there would be enough entartainment for them.

I had my wedding at this beautiful hotel, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. Coming from the US, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but Armine, the hotel manager, made everything so easy. She thought of the little details I hadn’t planned for and guided me through the entire process with care and professionalism. The hotel itself is a hidden gem in the mountains, with a stunning river view that made for the perfect wedding backdrop. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was excellent, and all my guests who stayed at the hotel had a one-of-a-kind experience—something truly special that I couldn’t have recreated in the US. Highly recommend this place for anyone planning a destination wedding or looking for a peaceful, memorable stay.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel — my wife and I, along with another couple. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our visit. What made the experience even more special was the nearby natural river — absolutely stunning, fresh water and peaceful surroundings. We spent time walking along the riverbank and garden relaxing in nature, which was a perfect complement to our stay. It was a great mix of comfort, hospitality, and natural beauty. We’d definitely come back and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The location is very beautiful with its river and wooded area. And the hotel decor is also outstanding along with the food service. But many things are challenging. The WiFi service is very inconsistent--fine in some areas while dicey or non functioning in others. The room bathroom is small, and be careful with bare feet to avoid injuring your toes on uncommon placement of metal on the floor near the shower/toilet. The beds are comfortable but require jumping or a challenging climb to get in.

We had a mixed experience of this hotel. Arrived during a power cut but reception were very apologetic and sorted it fast. We were on the top floor of the second building, no lift but luckily staff helped with bags. Room was good but small things were irritating. Huge bedside lamp made it impossible to use the one bedside table to charge phone without moving it. Why do hotel rooms with twin beds only provide one chair? Breakfast on first morning was delicious, day 2 there were two large groups and a buffet which was understandable but the hot food was poor - leathery fried eggs - and by day 3 with fewer people staying the buffet selection was reduced and an omelet ordered never arrived! We enjoyed the evening meal we had. The position of the hotel for exploring the region was excellent and despite the busy road it was quiet. Probably the best hotel in the area.

This is my fourth time with my family and each time I have given a five star rating for comfort in the rooms, facilities provided such as sauna and swimming pool, food and professional attention given. Location is perfect for quiet solitude and joyful reflection on life.
