Hamilton on Beaumont in Newcastle

BRING YOUR EARPLUGS. There are plenty of things about this place that would work for plenty of people. Clean and tidy. Spacious. Nice hotel style linen, some cute mini toiletries and a useful enough kitchen. Fab location in a bustling eclectic part of town with SO many fantastic fun shops etc. HOWEVER - I should have interpreted ‘executive’ as ‘robot’. If you value a bedroom with accessible fresh air, lighting that doesn’t feel like an office, and are noise sensitive look elsewhere. If you do despair at sleeping in a/c you can open the balcony doors (the only openable anything), but the noise is an issue for rest. (Thursday night - music venue pub next door is a goer, plus Hamilton is a funky area full of characters ). The voices and the foyer door opening and closing echoes through the apartment as well as the stupid beeping of every keypad and the stacked carpark underneath. It took 4 attempts at calling to get through as there was a car in my ‘allocated’ space and there was no option to just hold, rather an automated request to keep calling. The person who answered was lovely and able to switch me to a new space easy enough. But it was 15 mins of trying to get through before that happened. It’s just an automated big company running lots of accom remotely
Like I said, it’d be fine for plenty of people but it was far from restful for this exhausted human. My trip was for medical reasons after an overnight stay in hospital hoping for a restful night before a long drive home.
I left a note begging for them to at least switch out the horrible cool tone led overheads or at least get some LAMPS for the next overstimulated person who was craving a restful space.
TLDR: So if you don’t mind sterile soulless vibes, no fresh air and aren’t disturbed by hearing plenty of bumps and conversations in the night for your preferred accom go for it. I guess 200 bucks a night is good these days for something with a kitchen and a bedroom, so if budget is a motivator go for it. If healing rest is what you need - nup. They’ve prob done all they can with the resources they are willing to spend for what people will pay to stay but I def won’t be choosing it again.

We didn't ever get to see the rooms as they sent us the foyer code but not the room code. The phone number provided was not attended after 6pm so we could not reach them. We had to leave and find an alternative. At about 10.30pm they finally sent the room code then blamed us for not contacting their 24hr emergency contact, which was not provided. We got a refund but no apology for their mistake. Pretty poor form. Don't recommend it.

Was accused ,via a phone call of having extra people STAY in the room, " alerted by the cleaner" apparently. Didnt see a cleaner the 2 nights i stayed there. So assume they live there and spy on everyone coming and going thru the cameras. The tone on the phone was unwarranted and not appreciated. Nice room, overcharged the second night by $27. But good location with easy acces for visitors to come AND go.
