We chose the hotel because of its classic style with nice settings. However, there is not oven a proper place to put a kettle, you can only put it on the floor or the bathroom. The light in the bathroom is missing the light bulb and no cover. It is a hazard issue as we could get an electric sock if we touch it by accident. We have informed the reception but it was not repaired at all. The vanity basin has cracks.
There are some nice and helpful staff in the reception. However, the restaurant staff service is very poor, we have walked out because the staff just ignored us and we would not go there again.

Our room had no windows or balcony , it felt like a jail room .
Beds were uncomfortable, pillows and mattress not good either , bed squeaky .
Phone was out of order
Lift not practical
Tv was an old and small hidden in an old style cupboard.
Not enough power points in the room .
Location is exceptional though staff were very nice and helpful .
Bathroom was very good 👍🏾

The hotel is super retro; the elevators even have sliding doors! Each room has a different bed. We were so happy that our room was the biggest on the floor. Some rooms were like princess rooms. The only downside was the showerhead in the bathroom; the water pressure wasn't great, probably because it's old.

Good hotel, good location. Street parking is available and not too busy.

The hotel itself if fantastic heritage building, I liked the location and historic atmosphere. Be prepared to check-in at the bar, if there is nobody at the reception and to pay for street parking, as hotel parking may be full. The room is nice, a but outdated, but clean, and that is not that bad for heritage hotel

I would say I have some mixed feelings about this hotel. I like the building; it is truly a historical building. However, there is a lack of staff. I sometimes have to wait for the staff. Other than that, I loved the room. The hardware is great, but the software issue caused an overall error.

Best boutique hotel ever. Stay at craig's royal hotel Feels like you fall in into history. Every inches of the hotel is so exquisite.

Shared high tea with my daughter very disappointed with it. I have been to several in other places never been let down but I opted for orange juice but it appeared to be a powder mixed with water certainly wasn't juice, sandwiches bread far too thick fillings boring, crusts should be cut off. Sausage rolls too peppery and no sauce offered. Scones were nice would have liked strawberries in the jam. High tea is a classy, elegant occasion. The room and china were lovely as to be expected. I will give you a quote from Dame Nellie Melba when asked what she sang to the public. "Sing them muck ". And sadly this is the attitude of the high tea. For the price people deserve better.

Placed a delivery order. Never turned up but took my money from my credit card. $55. When i called up they were closed. Extremely disgusted in this service. I want my money back and will not return to this establishment again. Zero stars.

Came in the afternoon on our way to Sovereign Hill, it wasn't really busy and food came pretty quickly. Ordered the boiled beef and was pleasantly surprised, it tastes really good.

Food is good, steak is normallly cooked as ordered and chips are good. All the sauces are fantastic. But service is too restricted by the fact that it is a chain.

Died & gone to heaven! Fantastic food, lovely staff, meals consistently cooked the same - easily the best steak restaurant in Ballarat!!!! Slightly on the expensive side, but every penny is worth it. Even their desserts... ?

Here for the first time for lunch and will definitely be back. Service was great and the meals we had were delicious and they were a generous serve. I had the Vietnamese Stew 'Yummo' and will definitely have again.

The food is like master chef. The atmosphere is fantastic. Can't rate this restaurant highly enough. Everything is market fresh. The flavours, wow, just wow. I'm going back. Also, great menu.
