The room was spaciousamd clran. The loaction is great and close to the Ballarat Aquatic centre. Free parking available. Note that we had a step shower over a bathtub. The taps were out dated and the bathroom could be renovated though ot was clean. The bed was very comfortable and the curtains blocked out the morning sun if you needed a sleep in. Overall ,a very comfortable stay.

Very comfy, only one comment the rooms need to be aired, musty smell when you walk in, I think just fresh air needed but overall great stay slept well in comfy bed

Everything was great except there’s no onsite restaurant, so when it’s dinner time the only option is to go out in the chilly weather, or get delivery.

Bedside tables hadn’t been wiped clean. The bathroom sink didn’t drain well. There was a terribly strong smell of smoke in the bathroom. Helen’s customer service was exemplary.

Luverly place will stay again . Did not expect to a room that size as my son was over whelmed on how big it was from what the last Quest we stayed at . Beds ,tv , internet , cooking facilities all good .

We chose the hotel because of its classic style with nice settings. However, there is not oven a proper place to put a kettle, you can only put it on the floor or the bathroom. Our room had no windows or balcony , it felt like a jail room . Beds were uncomfortable, pillows and mattress not good either , bed squeaky . Phone was out of order  Lift not practical  Tv was an old and small hidden in an old style cupboard. Not enough power points in the room . The hotel is super retro; the elevators even have sliding doors! Each room has a different bed. We were so happy that our room was the biggest on the floor. Some rooms were like princess rooms. The only downside was the showerhead in the bathroom; the water pressure wasn't great, probably because it's old.

The hotel itself if fantastic heritage building, I liked the location and historic atmosphere. Be prepared to check-in at the bar, if there is nobody at the reception and to pay for street parking, as hotel parking may be full. The room is nice, a but outdated, but clean, and that is not that bad for heritage hotel

I would say I have some mixed feelings about this hotel. I like the building; it is truly a historical building. However, there is a lack of staff. I sometimes have to wait for the staff. Other than that, I loved the room. The hardware is great, but the software issue caused an overall error.

The service personnel are good and helpful. One best thing is that they have another door to the Gold mining area. That's very convenient for us to go to the light show. We left a jacket in the hotel, they patiently replied us and sent back to Hong Kong to us. We only need to pay postal cost. We are really happy with them.

very close to Sovereign Hill, good place for kids

Great value for the hotel that is actually inside the Sovereign Hill itself so we could walk around inside as well. Room is a bit dated but it is clean and tidy so I have no complaints. The staff is also friendly and there is ample parking. I had a great stay!

This hotel is in the perfect location, being close to everything in central Ballarat. Beautiful large room at the front of the property on the second floor. Despite the warning we may hear noise from the pub next door (being a Saturday night) we didn't hear a thing! Safe and easy accessible parking behind the hotel. Is our hotel of choice when staying in Ballarat.

We arrived early & the staff were very accomodating in allowing an early checkin. Room & amenities clean and the location in the CBA is excellent. Secure off street parking is a bonus. Would happily stay again next time we're in Ballarat

Its ok. Expected a bit more for the price we paid. Rooms looks run down a bit. Couldn't connect to the wifi at all. Receptionist was nice and helpful. Curtains were not enough to block the sunlight. Could here the people talking outside from inside the room.

Our stay met our needs for being in Ballarat. We enjoyed our previous stay at this accommodation. However, this stay left us unsure, the in-progress repairs were a bit unsightly, such as large unpainted patches on the wall, and a large ceiling patch also in progress. There was no one on-site at 4:30 pm in reception upon check-in, so we rang the phone number on our confirmation and left a message....

Usually clean rooms from previous stays, except on this occasion. Could offer a breakfast option at extra cost.

Need to give some attention to small details. Couldn't log in to wi fi, towel rails loose, toilet roll holder the same. Air con only worked continually blowing air at the same temperature. But a good place to stay.

Great location. Great price. Rooms are clean and of good quality. We had a family room in the upstairs section and it was huge. The single beds were in a separate room from the main bed/kitchenette/lounge area. Main downside: thin walls and floor mean sounds travel easily from outside and other guests. Not sure if I was upgraded to a bigger room or if all the rooms where that large. Comfortable bed. Easy as check in, didn't need to speak to anyone, door code was provided via text when room.was ready. Close to shops. Not overly quite, was a band playing close by. Close to good food. Spa bath was a plus. Would definitely stay again due to room size as I was with my 2yr old son.

Should you wish to unwind and smell The Roses, then i recommend staying here.A walk down by the lake thru the beautiful spacious grounds, it's like I'm stepping back in time. So So nice, my sixth visit here.It Takes Little time to travel into Ballarat and we had a superb Meal Again at Craig's Royal Hotel Ballarat and also at the royal Mail Hotel Which is in Sebastopol and Walking Distance If you wish

Beautiful historic building set on expansive grounds. Staff were all very friendly. Area is quite isolated, but there is a Coles a short drive away and they stock reasonably priced groceries and you can order a coffee at reception. Building is quite creaky, but to be expected given its age.

Lovely heritage building, and fantastic improvements have been made since my last start 15 odd years ago. Staff really friendly too. A small lake on the 55 acres. Also spa & sauna, as well as a swimming pool too. Beautiful areas around the ground to walk or cycle around. ( can be hired through the back barn area)

A lovely country experience!Staying in a heritage building with all the comforts of home was delightful. The facilities at the resort were excellent. A spa, sauna, gym, heated swimming pool, bikes, frisbee golf and much more. I especially appreciated the lake where you could relax or take part in water sports.

Excellent caravan park for a short stay in Ballarat. Cabins are clean and spacious. Staff is very kind and helpful, too. Laundromat and supermarket are around the corner, which is very handy. City centre is not in a walking distance but only a few minutes drive.

The cabin that was assigned to me was truly a home away from home. It was just nice and comfortable. Heating was already on which was nice. I also slept well as the bed was ultra comfortable and warm from the heated blanket. I will visit again. Thank you.

Beds were comfy and location was good. Villa was tiny tiny tiny! Barely space to walk around the beds. Really noisy as well, the road nearby must be part of the hoon blockie route. Games room was poor, with only 4-5 out of about ten games working. Wouldn't stay again.

A very satisfying one-night stay. The location is convenient, close to shopping streets and restaurants, and there's unlimited parking right outside the door for the whole day. We arrived after 8 PM, and the front desk staff warmly assisted us with check-in. Highly recommend!

The location is fantastic, very convenient for transportation, and just a stone's throw from the city center, making it easy to get around and find places to eat. We booked a family room, which perfectly met our family's needs and was clean and hygienic. If we come to this town again, we'll definitely choose to stay here.

It's a very convenient place. There are many restaurants nearby the motel and not far to Sovereign Hill. We have been to Sovereign Hill at day time and then come to check in. After resting for a hour, we went to Sovereign Hill again for the Winter Wonderlighter.

Could do with some service - a bit of mould on the bathroom floor edges and the flush buttons have copper oxide delamination but otherwise the fittings (and only the fittings) look relatively new, edge of kitchen floor pricks me for some reason, section of carpet makes weird noise, tiles have small cracks. The Motel is very good value for the money we paid. Obviously it is an older establishment but the room had been renovated so we were comfortable. The rate included a Continental breakfast and this was excellent.
