Good service and simple breakfast (toast, juice, coffee, eggs, and tomatoes). The walls are thin and it's quite noisy, but it's a fair deal for the price,is good one stay one day,if 2 days I will change stay other hotel,
Loved it! Some of the buildings might be a little older, but everything is well loved. The staff are excellent and welcoming.
Lovely stay. love the cozy room and the location is very convenient there are lots of restaurants surroundings. The only thing i didn’t like was there was no room cleaning service.
Fantastic location, restaurant on site, continental breakfast included or at small cost. Great place to stay and be close to shopping, dining, public transport and a variety of Ballarat’s activities and attractions.
Appreciated the 24 reception services. It is helpful when we travel by public  transport as we can’t control the time.  Very happy with the location as it was very convenient. Breakfast quite healthy. Clean rooms.  Having warm globes and an exhaust fan in the bathroom would be useful .
I arrived at 2am called after hours entry instant service would highly recommend

Hotel was very good. Only issue we had was the double bed was rock hard which I had mentioned too reception on check out
The room we had was clean but in need of some love but overall was a nice stay.
Always a pleasant stay great indoor pool and staff are polite.
Clean rooms, lovely staff- shout out to Sim at reception for being so lovely to my friend and I!
Yes staff very helpfull. Rooms a bit dated but clean and serviceable
We stayed in 2 rooms with my family and it was exceptional. Yes its older style but very clean and tidy. Kids loved the pool also very clean. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Value for money is crazy good. We will definitely be back.

We chose the hotel because of its classic style with nice settings. However, there is not oven a proper place to put a kettle, you can only put it on the floor or the bathroom. The light in the bathroom is missing the light bulb and no cover. It is a hazard issue as we could get an electric sock if we touch it by accident. We have informed the reception but it was not repaired at all. The vanity...
Our room had no windows or balcony , it felt like a jail room . Beds were uncomfortable, pillows and mattress not good either , bed squeaky . Phone was out of order  Lift not practical  Tv was an old and small hidden in an old style cupboard. Not enough power points in the room . Location is exceptional though staff were very nice and helpful . Bathroom was very good 👍🏾
The hotel is super retro; the elevators even have sliding doors! Each room has a different bed. We were so happy that our room was the biggest on the floor. Some rooms were like princess rooms. The only downside was the showerhead in the bathroom; the water pressure wasn't great, probably because it's old.
Good hotel, good location. Street parking is available and not too busy.
The hotel itself if fantastic heritage building, I liked the location and historic atmosphere. Be prepared to check-in at the bar, if there is nobody at the reception and to pay for street parking, as hotel parking may be full. The room is nice, a but outdated, but clean, and that is not that bad for heritage hotel
I would say I have some mixed feelings about this hotel. I like the building; it is truly a historical building. However, there is a lack of staff. I sometimes have to wait for the staff. Other than that, I loved the room. The hardware is great, but the software issue caused an overall error.

The location is excellent, right at the Ballarat central, it’s abit dated but still stay clean.
It was so much better than expected. Very spacious, with a kitchen and spa with a TV in the bathroom, comfy bed. I would definitely stay again.
Great locations and staff were amazing. I feel the room was very comfortable and clean. I do believe the hotel does need to do a makeover as its showing its age and the paint is peeling on the ceiling.
Accessible room was spacious car park right outside the room which was convenient. Did need extra hooks or bench space in the bathroom as it was lacking.
Clean, quiet, easy check in. would be nice to have a chain lock to the inside of the entry door for extra security.
A great option for a couple of nights away! Room was spacious and in a lovely part of town. Part of a hotel but we couldn’t hear any noise.

The service personnel are good and helpful. One best thing is that they have another door to the Gold mining area. That's very convenient for us to go to the light show. We left a jacket in the hotel, they patiently replied us and sent back to Hong Kong to us. We only need to pay postal cost. We are really happy with them.
very close to Sovereign Hill, good place for kids
Great value for the hotel that is actually inside the Sovereign Hill itself so we could walk around inside as well. Room is a bit dated but it is clean and tidy so I have no complaints. The staff is also friendly and there is ample parking. I had a great stay!
Very nice, good location. Receptionist was nice and helpful!
Unbeatable location, right behind the mining town's back gate.
The convenience and experience of staying on-site of one of the premium museum parks is great. I do wish they could upgrade the rooms and amenities provided to the room. NOTE: even though the hotel provides a microwave which implies you may cook in the room. DO NOT DO THIS. The smoke alarms are EXTREMELY sensitive and merely cooking toast could trigger them. This activates a fire brigade call out which...

Great facility. Enjoyed the stay. Will stay again. Very quiet location.
Lovely stay, convenient location (bus stop right outside and 2mins walk to Coles), owners were very friendly and provided good service. 😊
The stay was pleasant! The Inn had everything you'd need on an average holiday which was fantastic!
The service was good but unfortunately the bed was very uncomfortable. It was sinking in the middle! The pillows and mattress smelt of sweat. The hotel was fully booked, so we couldn't change rooms. Will not stay again
Worth the money. Very convenient location and clean. Stayed for two days.
The rooms are nice and clean. Foxtel is a bonus and the pool looks good.

Should you wish to unwind and smell The Roses, then i recommend staying here.A walk down by the lake thru the beautiful spacious grounds, it's like I'm stepping back in time. So So nice, my sixth visit here.It Takes Little time to travel into Ballarat and we had a superb Meal Again at Craig's Royal Hotel Ballarat and also at the royal Mail Hotel Which is in Sebastopol and Walking Distance If you wish
The history and amenities that the hotel had for offer. Deb is really good at doing the tour around the property. If you come to this area then this hotel is what you are expected for bring back then old days. What a Gem
Staff were friendly, room was spotless and had everything in the room that you would need. Lovely grounds to walk around. Will definitely be staying here again next time in Ballarat
Lovely heritage building, and fantastic improvements have been made since my last start 15 odd years ago. Staff really friendly too. A small lake on the 55 acres. Also spa & sauna, as well as a swimming pool too. Beautiful areas around the ground to walk or cycle around. ( can be hired through the back barn area)
A lovely country experience!Staying in a heritage building with all the comforts of home was delightful. The facilities at the resort were excellent. A spa, sauna, gym, heated swimming pool, bikes, frisbee golf and much more. I especially appreciated the lake where you could relax or take part in water sports.
Georgeous accommodation, loved the heritage of the place, great facilities and heaps of activies. Clean spacious rooms and loved the floor heating in the bathrooms.

Its ok. Expected a bit more for the price we paid. Rooms looks run down a bit. Couldn't connect to the wifi at all. Receptionist was nice and helpful. Curtains were not enough to block the sunlight. Could here the people talking outside from inside the room.
Our stay was good. Easy to find. Close to town.
The reception is open till 7 pm 👍
We were pleased to see inside since it has enough beds (and a large sofabed) for 5 people, a washing machine and a drier (proper ones), a big fridge, 2 TVs, complete kitchen, and a nice bucket for breakfast. The inn's strategically located, close to fuel station where we could also buy basic essentials. The only thing holds it back from getting 5 stars was the front area of our room which somehow...
It had everything we needed but it was terribly run down, no heating & water in shower ran hot then cold repeatedly with very little water pressure
Noisy as on main road. Could be cleaner, eg bathroom window sills. Staff nice and friendly.

Our stay met our needs for being in Ballarat. We enjoyed our previous stay at this accommodation. However, this stay left us unsure, the in-progress repairs were a bit unsightly, such as large unpainted patches on the wall, and a large ceiling patch also in progress. There was no one on-site at 4:30 pm in reception upon check-in, so we rang the phone number on our confirmation and left a message....
Usually clean rooms from previous stays, except on this occasion. Could offer a breakfast option at extra cost.
It is nice but Balaarat so cold
Need to give some attention to small details. Couldn't log in to wi fi, towel rails loose, toilet roll holder the same. Air con only worked continually blowing air at the same temperature. But a good place to stay.
Great location. Great price. Rooms are clean and of good quality. We had a family room in the upstairs section and it was huge. The single beds were in a separate room from the main bed/kitchenette/lounge area. Main downside: thin walls and floor mean sounds travel easily from outside and other guests. Your sleep will depend on the quality of your neighbours...
Not sure if I was upgraded to a bigger room or if all the rooms where that large. Comfortable bed. Easy as check in, didn't need to speak to anyone, door code was provided via text when room.was ready. Close to shops. Not overly quite, was a band playing close by. Close to good food. Spa bath was a plus. Would definitely stay again due to room size as I was with my 2yr old son.

We were in room 6 and it was huge with a king size bed and a single bed. The bathroom was also very large. The beds were comfortable and everything was really clean. I have very high standards and I was impressed again. That was my second time staying at The Menzies Ballarat, visiting family and I would definitely stay again next time. Great value for money. Very quick checkin. Walking distance to...
Stayed here for 7 days and thought it was great. Huge apartment, very clean and fresh towels everyday. Well impressed.
Works and issues aren’t noticeable. Could do with some service - a bit of mould on the bathroom floor edges and the flush buttons have copper oxide delamination but otherwise the fittings (and only the fittings) look relatively new, edge of kitchen floor pricks me for some reason, section of carpet makes weird noise, tiles have small cracks. Light pollution from kitchen window even with blind. Could...
Incredible value. Room was a bit rough around the edges but clean, spacious and great ammenities. Full fridge, kettle, microwave and crockery. Staff were polite and helpful. Location wad an easy walk into the heart of town. Will use again if we need a place to stay in Ballarat.
Big room with kitchette. Big fridge/ freezer. Fantastic water pressure in shower. Bed comfortable, great pillows. Excellent location
Great central location in Ballarat. Staff not that friendly when greeting them. We stayed for 3 nights but unfortunately found the room we stayed in was not that soundproof with adjoining neighbour and had a very sleepless night on one of the nights when adjoining room was occupied by an inconsiderate man who seemed to enjoy a drink and late night sport. Probably would not return for this reason.

Great staff, neat and clean inside and out. Super comfy bed. Loved the fact breakfast was included!!! Plus having a cat visit and say hello was a nice touch too.
Room very clean and modern.breakfast was more than adequate, big variety of cereal.great value for money.
A very enjoyable stay. Room was immaculate. Heating and electric blankets made it cosy. Very spacious and excellent bathroom facilities Continental breakfast was a nice touch and I will be back soon. Very impressed
It was noisy - could hear the people next door talking and coughing.
The Motel is very good value for the money we paid. Obviously it is an older establishment but the room had been renovated so we were comfortable. The rate included a Continental breakfast and this was excellent.

The staff were lovely, the room clean and spacious. Foxtel was a bonus. Great area, only 4 mins from Sovereign Hill. Thanks for a great stay
Nice tidy little room. Perfect for what we needed as we stayed for a basketball tournament - only thing to improve is the water for the shower was rather cold and didn’t heat up. Other than that happy with our stay - thanks!!
