Reviews
A continental breakfast was included in the room.
Room was VERY basic, cosisting of a wardrobe that held a little bar fridge and a stand that held a kettle, toaster, microwave and cutlery and crockery, a Bed that was comfortable with clean sheets but lots of other things were not clean at all....remote control was literally disgusting 🤢, crockery and cutlery were supplied but cutlery was not clean and rather gross and sticky! The bathroom looked ok, apart from dirty/dusty toilet roll holder, dirty window sill and moldy grout lines in shower areas.
An extra rug in the wardrobe was again not clean, and pillows were very poor and basic.
The outside areas and gardens look run down and unloved with weeds and debris everywhere. The heated indoor pool was in poor condition and not inviting at all and looks as though it hasn't been used for some time.
I guess you do get what you pay for.
But in saying this the Motel looked to be at least 3/4 full over night.
I do hope the owners lift their standards and improve facilities.
Easy to find. Close to town.
My kids and I stayed at the colonial as we needed a break away from in-between hospital stays back at our oun town so we decided to try colonial in Ballarat for a treat away.
I accidentally muddled up the days on booking . Com but reception was accommodating sort of.
I paid 132 for a room online but they said they had one more room left (there were heaps available throughout night) but I ended up paying $179 i made rest up with cash .
These rooms are beyond putrid and unhygienic, im super worried about the health of my sick child who would have been breathing in this filth.
I spoke to reception this morning as last night by time we got back to room it was all shut at reception. This morning my mum who runs motels in Grampians had to call them personally and tell them to give my refund back.
It was almost like when I spoke to them, they turned it around and said because I didn't go on correct day it was booked that the receptionist diddnt have time to double check my room. As I said to them. This is years and years and years of built up filth.
There was bugs in bed as pictured,
Huge amount of bugs in the light covering
The bathroom had no space to sit in toilet as pictured
The shower had an almost 90 degree dip or sink in it making it hard to balance (hard to see in pics but was bad)
Light switch in bathroom big hazard broken and if I had of put wet fingers on it id be electrocuted.
The floors along skirting (as pictured) never have been vacummed.
Blood stains on blindes filth all over the entire walls cupboards and floors. But my final straw this morning noticing the doors.. Ive never seen such a build up of actual filth n dust and I dont know what. I grabbed a wet wipe and as in pictures, I need not say more... Litrally i sat in tears telling my kids not to touch walls or doors or lights switches ect. It was a truly was a stay that brought us serious anxiety and unrest.
It cost me a fortune to travel to Ballarat, it cost me a fortune to entertain my children away from the room cause we were feeling so sick at the filth we went away and took off as early as we could.
They ended up refunding after being told that we will be taking things further.
But as for actual compensation for the sick we feel the stress we endured and the waste of excitement my children had to enjoy a rest.
This is unacceptable. I will be looking into other avenues as directed by professionals because this place is honestly beyond a hazard
So now we wasted a weekend, we are untested and due back st children's hospital soon and me being a single mum cant seem to make it up to my children . All disappointed.
Most motel would at least try to make it up to a customer for this kind of thing but id say this lot are in it for a quick $ thinking health inspectors wont bother with them.
Reports will be happening this week :(
The bathroom is nice, however the shower head is quite low resulting in all of us, including the child, to need to bend down to wash out our hair. Aside from that our stay has been lovely and the staff were very friendly.
Cafe and Restaurants near hotel
Charged more than the prices that were listed on their website and wouldn't honour the prices because the menus in the venue had been changed, despite the fact the order was a phone order made using the online menu. Illegal!!
Just another take away masked by a tick of approval, but you won't find the tick... they'd just like you to believe it.
