Zinnkrgl in St. Johann im Pongau

Run by very kind and hardworking people. The hotel building was beautiful. The food was delicious and there were lots of choices and kind staff. The room was big and cozy. Nice sauna area. right next to the gondola, very nice after a long ski day.

We loved our summer holiday here! The hotel is above Sankt Johann im Pongau, in a holiday village right next to a gondola for the Geisterberg (a playground mountain).

The rooms are comfortable and VERY clean. Modern, bright bathroom (with a shower), excellent bedding, towels and bathrobes (incl, ones for children). The soundproofing is excellent, we had a great night sleep. Our rooms was sunny in the afternoon and it got quite hot, we slept with open windows - quiet enough.

The food was excellent: breakfasts have a buffet of salads, fruits and cheeses, bread, plus there is a menu of egg dishes - all excellent.

There is a children's lunch as part of the kid's program and a buffet lunch at 14:00. Dinner is a 5-course meal, all of excellent quality. Daily choice of meat and fish, plus a vegetarian dish - always interesting, not just pasta.

There are daily activities, most are included if you stay for a certain nr of nights. We went hiking, had a pony ride etc. The hotel provides a ride for those who doesn't have a car, though spaces are limited. There are daily children's activities and the nanny is lovely.

The regional card is issued (I guess a minimum stay is requited) which gives you discounts on transportation and for the local attractions. We used it to go up Geisterberg.

There are plenty of hiking options, we went to a stunning Liechtensteinklamm gorge - highly recommended.

Overall, we very much recommend this hotel.

We had a fantastic week staying at Hotel Zinnkrugl. The whole hotel team are outstanding & the welcome is like a home from home. I was apprehensive staying at a spa hotel with children, but they could not have been more welcoming and the smallest of touches from the children sized gowns & slippers to the staff engaging & being so kind to them, were all small touches that went above and beyond. The whole hotel is spotless.

For skiing, the ski school and hire are on the doorstep and the gondola is just the other side of the road. The hotel has a heated ski room on the ground level which makes everything really easy. The local ski school was exceptional and the hire place very friendly. The Ski Amade region is extensive and great for all levels. The gondolas & chair lifts are also super comfy, some with heated seats and weather shields. Even the little button lifts on the beginners slopes are modern and easy for little people to use.

The indoor pool with a panoramic view is very welcome after skiing! It is a relaxation area and we were careful not to let our children disturb guests who were relaxing in the spa, but everyone was very welcoming.

Last but not least the food is exceptional. Fine dining - 5 courses each night, and worthy of a Michelin star. The restaurant were flexible with a children's menu which was very good & freshly cooked (all usual favourites but very nicely done), but the children could also choose from the main menu if they wished. Every mouthful was a treat. We are also spoilt with an incredibly plentiful breakfast buffet (and the most poached eggs & pancakes cooked to order). On top, the hotel put on a post skiing buffet which was much enjoyed with a drink on the balcony.

The bar in the evening is homely, classy and very social.

We cannot recommend this hotel enough, and will most definitely be returning.

A fantastic hotel with incredible hospitality, where the entire team puts their heart and soul into making your stay unforgettable. The cuisine is outstanding, and the bar is always a great place to enjoy an aperitif and relax afterward with some great music. The atmosphere and coziness are simply top-notch – you truly feel at home here!

We chose this hotel for the first time and we didn’t regret anything.
We’ve spent our winter holidays here and had a wonderful stay.
Rooms are big and clean, wellness area was great, food was good and staff was very friendly. Extra credits to the wonderful Sabrina for giving us the most exceptional service ever!

We had a super stay at hotel Zinnkrügl. The rooms are great, the food is super and the people are realy kind. We travelled for the first time with a baby but this kidfriendly hotel was the perfect choice. We consider going back for a wintertrip. 👍

The resturant was very good but the menu was a little small in choice not portion size the ambience was very good as was the service

This is our 4th trip as a group of brothers. The hotel is exceptional, beautiful, wonderful staff, incredible food and very warm and welcoming. Their spa area is immaculate and never busy. Rooms are very spacious and very well appointed almost all have a view.
It is rare to find a hotel like this where you really do get exceptional value for money.
