Apartments Ante Portas in Salzburg

Let's start with the negatives: 1) The location is extremely poor, not in a tourist area. You have to take a bus to get back to the main city. (This is because I booked this hotel in a hurry without careful research. It turns out you should have carefully read a map and reviews, otherwise you'll suffer the consequences.) There's not much to see nearby. There's a bus stop, a small supermarket, and a restaurant.

2) It's located near a main road and is very noisy. It's a bit quieter if you close the windows, but there's no air conditioning, so it gets hot in the summer.

3) There's no air conditioning.

4) The front desk is only open from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM; it's closed the rest of the time, making it impossible to contact them. For example, if you need a bus pass, you have to wait until they open the next day. Also, there's no luggage storage after check-out; you have to pay extra to leave your luggage at the train station.

5) There's no daily housekeeping. You have to take out the trash yourself.

6) There aren't enough lights, making the room dim.

7) There's no elevator, so you have to carry your luggage upstairs.


Pros:

1) There are kitchen facilities, so you can cook.

2) The bathroom is large and modern. The shower was comfortable.

3) Free parking (but if you don't drive, this isn't a big deal).

4) Perhaps due to the Salzburg Festival, this was the most expensive hotel I stayed in during my entire trip, averaging over €160 per day, but the experience was definitely at the bottom of the list.

Conclusion: Not recommended. I recommend staying near the main train station.
