Description

Hotel Frederiksborg is a two-star property in Brussels offering a range of room types from Standard Single to Standard Quadruple rooms. The hotel provides basic amenities including air conditioning, heating, free WiFi, and non-smoking rooms throughout. Facilities include a restaurant and bar with vintage 60-70s style décor, meeting and banquet spaces, and family-friendly services such as kid meals. While the rooms are generally described as clean and spacious enough for two guests, some reviews point out the absence of in-room kettles and toiletries like soap or shampoo. The staff receive consistent praise for being welcoming and helpful, especially the concierge who offers local recommendations. However, guests should be aware of mixed feedback concerning maintenance and cleanliness, with some reports of outdated bathroom fixtures and occasional pest issues. The hotel accepts pets upon request and supports express check-in and check-out for convenience.

Guests can also find the restaurant New Luc sa just 249 meters from the hotel. The hotel overlooks a basilica visible from some rooms and corridors, providing a scenic view. However, it is roughly a 40-minute walk to Brussels North Station, which may be inconvenient for some travelers.

The staff at this hotel is an absolute standout. From the moment I checked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and attentive service. Every request was met with a prompt and gracious response. The concierge was especially helpful, offering fantastic recommendations for local restaurants and attractions.

I had made a reservation for a two-night stay at the hotel. However, upon arriving at the location, I discovered that the hotel was closed. I rang the bell for several minutes, but unfortunately, no one responded. Eventually, an individual approached me and informed me that the hotel had gone bankrupt and had subsequently shut down.

It was just a place to crash for the night as we had a concert to attend in Brussels. We regretted this. The place smelt like antiseptic, the shower holder was falling off, the toilet had stains from probably 20 years ago, the bed was hard, the pillows were so thin we could fold it in half, but you get what you pay for I suppose. The hotel staff were not friendly, we had issues with our room key and they were quite disorganised about it. It was rather shocking that they just tried random rooms (to test the proximity key) not knowing which ones had guest and which don't and this brings up questions of security.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Hotel is good. The vintage bar downstairs is good with amazing food.
Rooms and washroom are big enough for two people with good window view.

The only part which they lack is not providing kettle in the room and no washroom basics like soap, shampoo and dental kit.

Positive:
- close to public transport for all the types metro, tramway and bus
- good food and hard options at the hotel itself
- super friendly and polite staff
- clean, comfortable and spacious rooms
- clean washroom / toilet area
- very close to basilic infact you can see it from the hotel window and corridor.
- classic vintage styled restaurant and the hotel is well lighted up with nice wooden flooring

Negative:
- A bit far from the Brussels north (gare du nord) station. Can take 40 minutes by walk (you need to have strong legs like mine;))
- too narrow entry gate and too small elevator, is not wheel chair friendly

Our experience was awful. the hallways a little bit noisy but most of all FLEAS IN THE BEDS that bit us all night long...
This hôtel is definitely a place to avoid.

The hotel staff were nice and helpful with places to visit. The rooms were a bit small with a view of the park and church from your window. The breakfast offered in the morning is enough to start your day with breads, cold cuts , juice and fruits. There is a hotel bar located downstairs. The wifi can be spotty with no service in the rooms.

Very helpful and friendly staff! The rooms were clean and were a decent size. The bathroom was okay, it had one of those “european” handheld shower heads instead of it being fixed on the wall, which makes me get cold when I shower. The lift is very small and we barely fit with our luggage, I almost fell trying to get my luggage out. There are food, stores and “bodegas” nearby. The tram station is a few blocks away, about 10-15 min walk or you can take the bus right next to the hotel. There’s a cathedral in front and a restaurant underneath. Would stay again.
