There are multiple things wrong with this hotel. I will list some of what happened to me below, but the most essential thing is that almost no one seems to care about the satisfaction of the customer. That shows and starts to feel quite frustrating.

- cleaner doesn’t clean the room very well and leaves trash everywhere
- Called the reception and they hang up for me
- Gym is not open, no one including the reception is having the key, everyone keeps telling me it’s open now and I went two times - it is not. I said I’ll come back later and they promise to handle - no one did, within one hour.
- Internet was not working most days
- Room key often doesn’t work
- On day of departure the reception calls and asks you to leave asap - this came from many personnel, although disguised as a “reminder”
- Luggage room costs for a guest that stayed full week
- etc etc

I had one of the worst stays at the Royalty Copacabana Hotel. They completely abused the guests with unfair charges. They charged me MORE for one extra person sleeping in the same room than the cost of renting an additional room. This is absurd and unacceptable.

The breakfast was very poor, low quality, and not worth what they advertise. On top of that, they even overcharged me for using the garage. Instead of making guests feel welcome, they seem to focus only on squeezing as much money as possible.

This hotel is dishonest with pricing, treats guests badly, and provides a bad overall experience. I strongly recommend people never stay at this hotel. There are plenty of better options in Copacabana that respect their customers.

This is by far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The property is old and dirty, and I had to change rooms several times in just one night because of the unacceptable conditions. It’s disgusting and absolutely not worthy of a 3-star rating. I know what true 3-star standards are — I lived in Rio — and this falls far below them.

The hotel had its location as its best point but there were cockroaches in the room, on the bed, and around the mini bar. I am normally very accommodating and rarely like to cause a fuss, so I mentioned it to the front desk after the first night in hopes that they might move me to another room, only for them to offer to clean the room up. Getting back late on the second night I see more cockroaches everywhere even though the smell of insecticide was in the air. The staff at the front desk at that time said there were no other rooms I could be moved into so I checked out early and will be seeking a refund

For a 3 star Hotel, the room was huge, free breakfast every day, which had a great array of food for every nationality. Small upper deck pool, but it was great to relax in. The only thing we missed was not having a kettle to make tea/coffee whenever we wanted.
Staff were very approachable and friendly.
