Ritz Copacabana Hotel in Rio De Janeiro

Location, services, friendliness, breakfast was great. Higjly recommend

Cute boutique hotel located one block away from Copacabana beach. Rooms were a decent size and clean. Staff were the highlight of this stay as they were always available for questions, recommendations, and requests no matter how small (shoutout to Victor and Charlotte at front desk and all the morning breakfast staff). Continental breakfast choices were ok. I like that you needed a room key to activate elevator. They surprised us with champagne and plastic flutes on NYE which was so special and kind. Noise level from the streets didn’t bother me but could possibly affect light sleepers. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Ritz however there were some minor/major inconveniences we encountered on the first 3 days of our stay that were not so pleasant but resolved quickly. First was that the showers have waterfall shower heads making it difficult not to wet your hair however it was worsened by the fact that our first rooms shower head that was malfunctioning (water spraying everywhere even the floor) which was quickly replaced by maintenance. Second was that the AC unit in our first room was not properly functioning which became a huge problem by the 3rd day as it was extremely hot outside and maintenance was unable to fix it, so our room got changed. Third was that our first room smelled like sewage upon entry probably due to the heat and lack of air circulation. Once we changed rooms our stay got significantly better with the exception that our toilet needed maintenance after a day in there as the water would not stop running and then ultimately would not flush which was also promptly fixed. All in all worth what we paid and had a generally good experience.

The place was excellent and the staff were very helpful and kind, especially Victor on the desk. Really would recommend this place, excellent view of Copacabana from the room.

We stayed 3 nights at the start of our holiday in late October and having looked at nearby hotels decided to come back at the end.
A medium sized hotel 60 meters back from the the main front avenue.
Really really nice hotel, clean and modern, large rooms.
Our rooms were 1102 and 1402 respectively and these, initially just by luck, were the superior rooms high floors on the corner with a wonderful view.
The same view enjoyed by the dining room and the top floor pool/bar, over the Copacabana and sugerloaf. ( See photo)
Everything worked effectively. The staff were really great very helpful.
The breakfast buffet was extensive and excellent quality.

Stayed here for 4 nights in September. Very enjoyable stay.
Hotel is smaller/boutique type and newer, I think, than many of the bigger places on Copacabana - and it shows. Paid a bit extra to stay in the slightly bigger Exec room and found it very pleasant, clean, modern and well equiped. Higher floor so fairly quite - good A/C.
Breakfast was a buffet served on the top floor with great views. Not a massive choice but still good enough and fresh. Good coffee machine!
Staff were very good throughout. Extremely helpful at Reception - Victor, Junior? and lady whose name I didnt get. Happy to arrange reliable tours and Taxis which is a must in Rio.
Well located one block back from Copacabana and easy walk down to Ipanema and the evening night market. Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby.
To be honest its a first class place and I recommend to anyone going to Rio. Not sure if I will ever get the chance but if I ever returned to Rio would certainly stay again.
