Hotel Riazor in Rio De Janeiro

I had a hard time choosing between 3 and 4 stars. I’m going with 4 to be nice. I don’t know if this hotel is very nice overall. It’s not pretty. The room itself is fine and bare bones. The bed is actually quite comfortable, and the room is clean! But literally there is no decor and the closet looks a bit unsettling and I was very nervous when I looked in the bathroom because it does kind of look like a prison bathroom. Especially the shower. No toiletries except for hand soap which is annoying (I had to buy my own). The biggest perk is the 24/7 air conditioning. Clean room, safe area, comfy bed, and air conditioning is all I need! Workers are kind. There is a mini fridge as well. Convenient walk to Flamengo Beach which is not the nicest of the beaches in Rio, but it does the trick! I forgot to pack a towel and tote bag and I literally walked one minute out of the hotel and bought both for cheap. I am not taking off points for Riazor’s location, because you know it’s not convenient to Ipanema/copacabana when you book it. You just know you’ll have to uber. I’m also sad because I keep missing breakfast. I think it ends at 10 and I wake up at 10. Anyway you are not getting luxury. But I did book this hotel for super cheap literally a week before new years. Kind of my saving grace. If you don’t mind ubering a bunch and want simply a cheap, safe, doable place to stay, Hotel Riazor is your spot!

Workers are so friendly and helpful.
Located in city center, in front of metro, includes car park place. Close to downtown and south.
Beside Breakfast service included.
We had issues with AC.
Except that one I really liked the service and 1 star room.
If you dont look for 5star quality i recommend it
