Reviews
My recent experience was so horrific that my family and I didn't even stay for a full day. We saw the conditions, immediately cancelled our entire vacation, and moved to another hotel.
From the moment we opened the door to our room, we were hit with an overwhelming and stomach-churning smell of mould. It was so potent it made it difficult to breathe, and you could see patches of it on the walls. The air was thick and humid, not helped by the fact that the air-conditioning was completely non-functional. It was like a mouldy sauna.
The state of the room was utterly disgusting. The floors were filthy, covered in what looked like old dust and grime. The bathroom was even worse, with grimy fixtures and suspicious stains on the tiles. It was clear the room hadn't been properly cleaned in a very long time.
Despite our disgust, we tried to make the best of it and went to check out the dining area. What we found was nothing short of appalling. The so-called "restaurants" were dismal. The food looked like it had been sitting out for hours and was completely unappetizing. It was a chaotic and dirty environment, and we knew instantly there was no way we could eat a single meal there.
After this terrible tour of our room and the dining facilities, we made the best decision of our trip: we immediately checked out, cancelled our entire vacation at this hotel, and found a different place to stay.
This hotel is a complete disgrace and is not fit for guests. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place at all costs. It will ruin your vacation.
We stayed at Royal Park Hotel, Bulgaria, and it was honestly one of the worst experiences we’ve had abroad.
The food is absolutely awful – it's the same poor-quality options every day, and once it’s gone, it’s not replenished. There’s no organisation in the dining area – it’s a free-for-all with people pushing in constantly. Drinks? Only water, warm milk or beer. No soft drinks available, and cereal is offered at breakfast but no bowls provided. We were even served mouldy food at one point.
Ice cream stand and pool bar at the aquapark have been closed down for a long time.
If you’re unlucky enough to be on the 8th floor like us, be prepared to wait up to 20 minutes for the only lift working in the whole hotel. It fits about 4–5 people before the weight alarm goes off. Absolute nightmare, especially with kids or mobility issues.
The pool is dirty, with cracked, dangerous tiles, and the aqua park that's advertised is closed and has been for years – yet still shown in photos. Toilets throughout the hotel are in a disgusting state, some not even having door handles let alone locks.
No toilet paper.
Most guests were very young and predominantly French, and hands done the rudest people I have ever come across, regularly pushing in front for food or lifts, when challenged they just look at you like your'e scum.
We booked through Love Holidays, who are refusing to take any responsibility. Their response? “You should have researched it better.” Despite them selling it as a 4-star all-inclusive holiday, it’s barely worth 1 star.
Staff were apologetic but clearly told not to escalate complaints – always telling you to “come back at 9am,” but you never get to speak to a manager. Just young staff or one older lady who offers no resolution.
We were told by staff the hotel is closing next season, which explains why everything is falling apart – zero upkeep, no care, no budget, and honestly, hazards everywhere.
Anybody who is happy with this place clearly isnt used to much, basic hygiene and fresh food should be a given.
Do not waste your money. I would give zero stars if I could.
July 2025
I’ve visited this resort three times over the years, but unfortunately, it has changed dramatically—and not for the better. What used to be a decent place for a holiday has now become a poorly managed and underwhelming experience.
Parking & Facilities:
There is no on-site parking. Guests are forced to pay 20 leva/day to park in the public lots in Elenite.
The aquapark is closed, and the private beach is nothing like it used to be. There’s no beach bar, no umbrellas, and no loungers—just sand. The once-famous ponton is now unsafe, rusted, with broken and missing wooden planks.
Entertainment:
The animation team is nearly non-existent. Gone are the professional shows once held in the main building (which is now locked). Entertainment is reduced to a handful of teens (around 16–18 years old) roaming the resort with a speaker, trying to organize simple beach games or play a few songs for children at the amphitheater in the evening.
Rooms & Services:
On our first day, we had no water at all—not even cold—which seemed to be a hotel-wide issue.
Bar service is poor, mostly run by interns who speak little to no English. Even if they understand a few words, they often pretend not to.
Drink options are limited to basic fountain sodas (Cola, Fanta, Sprite), and even those are often out of stock. The beer is watered down, and the coffee is instant powder from machines—no real beans.
Forget about cocktails or spirits—they’re simply not available.
Restaurant:
The restaurant is chaotic, especially because the resort hosts large groups of children from camps and training programs. Very few families or couples were present during our stay.
Food quality is poor:
Soups are rarely available
No morning omelets—only boiled eggs and questionable cold cuts
All desserts taste the same
Overall:
This resort has deteriorated significantly. What used to be a decent holiday destination is now mismanaged and overcrowded, with very limited amenities and poor service.
I would not recommend it, regardless of your budget. There are better options out there that offer real value and comfort.
There is enough food, but there are many hungry people who fill up the plates and than leave the food intact or take the food with them outside the restaurant, in my opinion there is enough food but people too gready
- rooms: air conditioning is not working but we were lucky and weather was nice so we had a good sleep , but if it was hotter we would have had problems
For 6 days nobody changed the sheets and towels in the room even if they said they will change it after day five
There were only 4 little hotel shampoos when we came, and than nobody brings new ones, when I asked housekeeping, they said to ask in the reception, when I get there they write the room number and said tomorrow, but after day six still no shampoo, than when I asked again, they said that they give only 4 and that's it, doesn't matter how many days you are there
We had an issue with some kind of leakage in the room after a rainy night and nobody cares, when I get to reception to report, receptionist said he doesn't understand me, and that he doesn't speak English , but when we checked in, he was understanding Macedonian, but not when I reacted about the room issues he forgot English too
- shortage of drinks is an everyday thing here, but only bright side in this hotel are bartenders and cooks because they work as much as they can with things that they have on their disposal
- there is an every day fight for sunbeds on the beach because there are not enough and half of them that are on the beach are broken
DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE, WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER BEEN IM MY LIFE AND TO BE CLEAR, I AM NOT A NEEDY GUEST. ONLY BRIGHT THING HERE IS LOCATION OF THE HOTEL AND THE BARTENDERS
BONUS FEATURE - whole my family got GI virus during our stay at this hotel
Objective review on this hotel. Before we came, i was scared reading the reviews but... true that this hotel needs better maintenance but on the other hand you get what you paid, for the money we paid it is really fine. My personal opinion is that this hotel need more open bars, especially one on the beach and they need to overcome shortage of drinks in the bars. Regarding the food, believe me, it's physically impossible to make enough food because people are taking much more that they can eat, but that is not hotels fault, people that come here are hungry . Finally, Location of the hotel is perfect, beachfront, sandy beach southern position, sunny whole day.
This hotel can't compeet with 4star hotel in Turkey, but anyway good for the money.
Horrible Horrible place. If it was cheap maybe it is okay but they advertise as 4 stars hotel...Dont even know where to start. Not enough food. Bars are not stocked, we managed to have beer twice and coke once. They were always out and only had water. Only one crancky person serving, had to wait forever. 4 lift serves hundreds of people, they kept breaking down, had to wait half hour to get upstairs what was a bit tricky with two under 2s.
Served raw sausage at dinner. Kids pool was not cleaned. Restaurant smellt like piss. Air-conditioning was broken in the room so my 4 months old screamed all night.
No management present. Managed to get a refund after many hours on the phone, checked out after a day and found another hotel. It wasn't a holiday there we just tried to survive. Everyone was so miserable and I can't blame them.
