Varbaka Complex in Ribarica

Horrible restaurant , super super bad. Super long wait , bad quality, 2 hour for them to bring a ketchup cup - not recommended at all

simply awful, the staff made us feel that we work for them, made a giant problem why we left a blanket folded on the ground, like actually got confrontational and raised their voices at us(it had a brown stain on it).When we then told tham that it had a stain and it's normal hotel etiquette to leave dirty towels et.c on the ground, mind you it was neatly folded and left in the corner. When hearing this we were asked again in a loud voice why we didn't say anything when we first saw it... I'm paying to go to a hotel and chill, not work there as a maid and inspect the room.

Food was awful and precooked and heated in a microwave. They have big signs on the mirrors saying that if they catch you consuming outside goods you will get fined 30BGN, which again this isn't a club, or a restaurant its 4 bungalows. If i want to drink water ill bring my bottle I don't care im paying 70 bgn a night for a bungalow.

The fishing part was the craziest experience I've ever had hands down. Prior to going there we called and asked what are the rules for their 'sports fishing' and when are we allowed to fish, they told us it's free if we are guests of the bungalows and we can fish anytime. Well apparently the fish there when caught they take out and use in the restaurant and during the day my friends caught double digits of trout and there were no guests at the restaurant and the staff got angry as after paying 750BGN total just to stay there they had a surplus of fish totaling 58BGN. In the evening we decided to throw 2 lines and test the water for 30 mins around 22:15 the staff started shouting at us to collect our fishing 'insert cuss word here' because they are not going to stay and guard us in case we decide to steal fish...the bungalows don't have fridges, what am i going to do with the trout seriously. At which point the staff called the owner and it just went downhill from there.

The owner told us that she never heard about night fishing and that we are keeping her staff at the pond( the staff lives in the building above the restaurant 1.5m away from the pond) and that we have to be considered with the staff that needs to rest...like I'm at a hotel/bungalow im paying to chill after working not to take care of her staff. She openly called( she was at speaker phone at that point) my mate and his girlfriend who were there for their 10th anniversary loud obnoxious brats. She threatened us that she knows how to deal with drunk 'insert another cuss word here' who break stuff and will call the authorities. We were not drunk we haven't had anything to drink as we decided against paying inflated prices for fake alcohol from the restaurant. She told us that she needs to rest and to leave her alone as it was 23:30 at that point.

We asked our money back for the next evening as we decided to leave first thing in the morning. The staff told us that we are going to get our money from them as they already entered us in the computer xD. We advised that we are going to call the commission for user protection and they laughed in our faces telling us nobody cares. Well apparently somebody cares as they gave us our money in the morning and before even moving our luggage out of the room they started inspecting for damages in the rooms...like what the actual ...

In conclusion the new owner has the place since 3 years and don't get mistaken by the reviews they are mostly towards the old owner. Also we spoke with the owners of the restaurant we used to eat at (the food at the bungalows was atrocious) and they told us the locals know about this and are waiting for the place to finally tank and die off for good.

The staffs table in the restaurant had always a bottle of vodka on it and they were generously helping themselves to it...
