Family hotel Iskar in Govedartsi

Owner showed up drunk and uninvited at my wedding

My wife and I brought a number of guests from around Bulgaria and the United States to Govedartsi for our wedding. Many of our guests stayed at Hotel Iskar. The town gets tourists in the winter for skiing, so the summer is the low-season and rooms were in very low demand. The owner was unhappy that we spread our guests out in multiple hotels throughout the village rather than book his hotel to max capacity. He complained to our guests behind our backs that we were making him lose money because of this, then asked people to pay upon arrival, which is not customary. My wife and I had planned to pay for a number of these guests, so it is very unpleasant that he asked them to pay on the spot, even though we had paid a substantial deposit to cover the rooms. He treated my wife very poorly when we asked what money he had remaining from the deposit. He also showed up drunk at our wedding which was a few miles down the road and fell over and broke a bunch of glass bottles. There are countless guesthouses in Govedartsi with wonderful owners. This place is not one of them.
