Alekta Hotel - Free Parking in Varna

Brilliant location, about 3 minute walk to the stunning coast line, and maybe a further 15 minutes to a sandy beach where you can spend the day. We took a trip up to the beaches in Golden Sands one day, but honestly much prefer the area near to Alekta. Golden Sands is all resorts and very touristy and about twice as expensive.
We requested a room with a view and they really delivered.
Rooms and breakfast area are clean and bright. Breakfast is nice, mainly continental but also with some eggs and sausages. Good for meat eaters and even vegetarians, but not really anything for vegans.
Beautiful terrace area with sun loungers and pool. Very well kept.
Staff are friendly and accommodating. The only reason I've given 4 stars instead of 5 - there is no water or coffee provided in the rooms, however when I asked about this immediately on our arrival to the hotel, the very kind receptionist told me I can come and get water and coffee from the bar any time I need. It's only 3lv which is fine, you can only get complimentary coffee and water during the 8-10am breakfast. Anyway, when I came down from my room early in the morning to get a coffee (before 8), I was confronted by a male staff I had not seen before. He looks like he lives in the gym and his attitude is like he is taking steroids. Anyway, I politely asked if I could get a coffee (having been told it was totally fine any time), and he just started shouting at me, very aggressively, "go away, go away, later" over and over again. I am female and was alone and it was very intimidating to have this large man shouting at me. I was shocked. I later asked and found out he is called Ilyad. So avoid him if you can. Once I told the management they were very apologetic and offered to comply coffee, I do understand it's not their fault.
Such a shame one person can bring down an otherwise perfect experience.

Nice family hotel, friendly and competent staff, good breakfast (either Bulgarian or buffet style). Room had a balcony and sea view, decent beds and good shower. Aircon might need some maintenance as it kept ventilating warm air into the room even when switched off at night.
Near the pleasant sea side park, ca. 2 km from the harbour and centre.

We had a room at the top floor with sea view. The room had a balcony and the bed was very good. The bathroom had a great walk in shower. The WiFi signal in the room was very weak or non existant.

The hotel is located a couple of kilometers from the city center, but is next to the big seaside park and there are some good restaurants nearby. It is possible to park your car next to the hotel for free.

Breakfast was simple, but good. There is no buffet.

Very friendly manager, very good breakfast. Some problems with the shower, a little bit dust in the room.

Very pleasantly surprised from this hotel. Staff are friendly and very helpful. The whole place is well maintained and very clean. Highly recommend
