Regent Chongqing in Chongqing

Hands down, this is Chongqing's top five-star hotel. The environment, location, and rooms are all exceptional. The service is absolutely impeccable, and the river view room offers stunning night views of the city and Hongyadong. The breakfast is also fantastic!

The room was great with a well-designed layout. Since it was my birthday, the hotel offered a room upgrade and a small gift. All the staff provided excellent service; they contacted me a day in advance to ask about my needs and preferences, and were very attentive on the day of check-in. When I arrived, my room wasn't quite ready, so they invited me to have a drink at the bar. The view was beautiful, especially at night. I happened to be there during a marathon, so it was very crowded, but the hotel staff informed me beforehand, and everything was well-organized on site.

Facilities: The central air conditioning and the remote control for the in-room AC weren't very effective. Absolutely loved the material of the vanity and bathtub!
Cleanliness: Good.
Service: The service was truly excellent. Even though some of the staff's speech had a strong AI-like quality, their attitude and service experience were genuinely good. When I checked in, the room temperature was too high – I'd break a sweat just going to the bathroom. I contacted the staff, and a maintenance technician arrived very quickly, but it didn't help much. After reporting it again, they moved me to a different room and brought a portable air cooler, which was incredibly thorough.
The only thing I found unsatisfactory was the buffet on the first floor. The variety was limited, and there weren't many dishes. For the same price point, there are many buffets with far more options, making this one very poor value for money. Perhaps it's because the restaurant space is too small.

The overall experience exceeded my expectations. The elegant, understated 'old money' style was spot on, and the service was attentive and meticulous. Both the stunning night views of the two rivers and the quality of the dining were impressive. This is a luxury hotel in Chongqing I'd definitely choose again.

The service attitude was consistently excellent throughout. Amenities like laundry and bubble baths were effortlessly taken care of and very comforting. My dedicated butler was responsive, and all my requests were handled efficiently. Even when a laundry item was mistakenly delivered, it was quickly recovered and sorted out afterward – truly commendable professionalism and responsibility.

🏛️ Ambiance & Public Areas
The overall decor exudes a sophisticated, understated 'old money' vibe, with an elegant and tasteful lobby. The gym and pool are well-maintained; the spaces are comfortable and the atmosphere is serene, making it very pleasant to spend a whole day at the hotel.

🌃 Two Rivers Bar
The 7th-floor terrace offers absolutely stunning views and ambiance. It boasts panoramic night views of the confluence of the two rivers, creating an incredible atmosphere. Live bands start performing at 9 PM, making it a wonderfully relaxing place to unwind – a must-experience at the hotel.

🥩 Second Floor Steakhouse
The steaks were excellent, both in flavor and texture. The only minor drawback was that the food delivery and service pace were a bit slow. I'd recommend dining during off-peak hours for a better experience.

High-quality hardware, prompt service, and highlights in both night views and dining. The minor flaws don't detract from the overall positive impression. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Chongqing.

Absolutely loved my stay at Regent Chongqing during Chinese New Year!

It was such an emotional boost. Every morning I’d spend ages in the restaurant, just feasting (so good!). Waiting for the lion dance and various gods to appear, and getting red envelopes from them (the lions and gods would interact with guests at each table in the restaurant). The breakfast pastries had different delightful touches every day, which made me so happy.

In the evenings, the two bars had incredible views, giving off a vibe of extravagant decadence. I just loved indulging and chilling out every day.

Service was truly responsive to every request, always thorough, patient, gentle, and never annoyed. They were there whenever you needed them, but without being overly enthusiastic or overwhelming. The balance was just perfect – that’s a huge plus!

On checkout day, an important document accidentally blew under the car. The security guard and the manager at the entrance got down on the ground, blowing and fishing it out for me. Super impressive!

I have to praise the complimentary Chongqing noodles in the room. Regent's noodles really do have a unique texture! They’re something special! I had to slurp down a bowl every morning at breakfast. When I left, I ended up buying three extra boxes…

These few days in the bustling city of Chongqing were truly joyful! Everywhere I went, I had this illusion that I was about to become rich (just kidding, but not really). The massive golden tree, the auspicious lions, all sorts of gold ingots, gold coin chocolates, a well-stocked mini-bar with drinks, and various Chongqing snacks provided daily!

As someone in advertising, I have to say the ambiance here is masterfully done. The brand positioning is so well maintained. Full of emotional value ✅.

PS. The room facilities are new and complete, and cleanliness is excellent, no complaints. If I had to pick something, maybe the central air conditioning was a bit too warm.

For my second stop in Mountain City, I chose the Regent Chongqing, also an #IHG property. Initially, I wasn't planning on switching hotels, but after seeing great reviews for this one on social media and knowing it's part of the same group as the InterContinental, I decided to experience it for myself.

The #hotel is located in the Jiangbei Central Business District, offering convenient access. It faces the beautiful Jialing River and Yuzhong Peninsula, and Chongqing Grand Theatre is within walking distance. This time, I booked a Regent Club River View Room with executive lounge access. If the InterContinental's decor is modern, light luxury, and minimalist, then the Regent is definitely a classic Chinese 'old money' style.

The room layout is very organized, and the walk-in closet is spacious enough. The window directly overlooks the Jialing River and Yuzhong Peninsula, with stunning views of Qianximen Bridge and Hongyadong. The bathroom's separate wet and dry areas and double sinks were a great touch. The bath amenities, from Frédéric Malle's Eau de Magnolia line, had a refreshing and clear scent. The complimentary mini-bar was also more diverse than at the InterContinental.

The executive lounge, while not offering breakfast, provided a la carte options for morning snacks, afternoon tea, light dinner, and evening cocktails. Although the selection wasn't vast, the quality was quite impressive. The hotel also gifted us cocktails at their popular bar, Two Rivers Bar, which unfortunately we couldn't experience this time as we were with our child – a small regret.

Overall, the hotel's service was commendable; any minor issues encountered were resolved satisfactorily. The general experience was quite good.

Regent Chongqing truly lives up to its reputation as one of the best hotels in Chongqing. The hotel offers a wide range of services, including complimentary mini-bar snacks and three free laundry items per person daily. They also have a 'butler cabinet' where you can store various items, like clothes or food deliveries, so you can still receive things even when you're not in your room. During the Spring Festival, there were many activities, such as lion dances, sugar painting, and a 'God of Fortune' appearance. On New Year's Eve, we even received lucky fortune cookies and Chongqing noodles. Before our stay, the hotel called me, and I expressed my concerns about the room view and lighting. They kindly upgraded us to a garden view room, which had a very large king-sized bed. If you're looking for the best views and your budget allows, I'd personally recommend a river view room, followed by a garden view room.

From the moment I stepped into the lobby, the bellboy immediately took my luggage – I didn't have to lift a finger the entire time. The front desk staff were efficient and incredibly kind during check-in, even offering thoughtful recommendations for local authentic eateries, saving me the hassle of planning. The room was super spacious with breathtaking river views; the dazzling lights of Hongyadong at night were simply stunning. The bedding was incredibly soft and comfortable, providing instant relaxation.

All drinks in the minibar were complimentary and restocked daily. The Chongqing-specific snacks and custom bottled water were a lovely touch. High-end amenities like a Dyson hairdryer and daily face masks really elevated the sense of refinement. The dining experience at the hotel was also exceptional. Breakfast offered a vast array of choices, with authentic Chongqing noodles made to order and tasting truly original. Serving until 10:30 AM was a blessing for those of us who struggle to wake up early.

The Chinese restaurant's dishes were exquisite and delicious. The chef even meticulously explained the ingredients and cooking methods – every bite was a delight. The executive lounge service was also incredibly attentive, always ready to assist, showing thoughtfulness in every detail. All staff members I encountered were exceptionally professional, whether at the front desk, house-keeping, or in the restaurant. Communication was prompt and patient, and any requests were quickly addressed. That feeling of being completely looked after, truly made me feel at home.

This stay was absolutely perfect. I couldn't find a single fault, from the hardware facilities to the soft services. Because of this hotel, I've grown to love Chongqing even more! Next time I visit Chongqing, I will definitely choose Regent again. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a high-quality experience!👍
