Guangzhou Jingtu Hotel in Guangzhou

I can only say that skinny woman at the front desk was incredibly rude and unhelpful! I was trying to rent a power bank outside the hotel, but it didn't work, and my phone ran out of battery. I rushed in to ask the front desk, and that skinny woman there claimed there were no outlets available? Her immediate response was to inform me that walk-in rates started from 188 RMB! She clearly has no idea how to run a business; she should just go home and herd cattle! I've truly never encountered someone so petty. Her attitude was truly beyond words... It was only when I, out of sheer desperation, told her I needed to book a room that she finally allowed me to plug in my phone to switch it on and make the reservation! The cheaper rooms were located on the 2nd floor. I inquired if anyone could help me with my luggage, and she flatly refused, despite there clearly being two staff members at the front desk who weren't busy! They wouldn't even assist with the luggage! Any owner employing such staff must be incredibly unlucky! I ended up booking a deluxe king room for just over 130 RMB. How dare they quote 188 RMB *starting* for a standard walk-in room... What do they take their customers for? At 188 RMB, the room absolutely needs to be worth the price... I've been in the hotel industry for 6 years and have met all sorts of people, but I've never encountered someone as appalling as that woman.

Reached the hotel at 5am after a long flight but had a very bad surprise. I was told that only one room was left as they were not sure I was coming. When I entered the room, it was smelling and very badly maintained and unclean. I couldn't even use the washroom, I was so tired and napped for sometime and checked out to stay in another hotel. On top of this there ongoing work in upper levels so could hear a lot of knocking and drilling.

The only good thing was the lady at the reception gave me good assistance.
