Reviews
You have to understand that this isn't luxury accommodation; housing in Hong Kong is expensive. We're not picky tourists, but there were some issues, like cockroaches. I'd say the problem is with the building itself, so it might be a good idea to bring a couple of roach traps just in case. The walls are tiled, which might be good for cooling in season, but in January, when we traveled, it made the room very cold.
Hot water was a real problem for us. The water heater switch is outside the bathroom. It didn't work initially, so they came to fix it. Then, if you tried to adjust the heating speed, it would die again after a while. They told us this later, and it was fixed twice more. We were without hot water for a couple of days. The staff generally fulfill requests, but the water issue was persistent. The last time, I'd had enough and messaged them on Trip.com, and they came right away, whereas before, I'd approached them three times, and they kept saying it would be fine, but nothing happened.
The location is good, but getting into the hotel is a hassle. I ended up waiting in long lines just to use the elevator. The whole place feels really crowded.
The staff at the reception are friendly, but if you have the option, I’d definitely pick a better hotel.
When I checked in they charged me with extra 20 dollars saying it’s “cleaning fee”, but The hotel is not very clean, the smell is bed, the location is not the best, and honestly, I would pay twice the price just to get a room somewhere else.
Cafe and Restaurants near hotel
What particularly impressed me, was that the manager, who saw us viewing the menu, noticing that am Indian, might have a possibility of being vegetarian, and so promptly suggested about the vegetarian options as well.
All in all, I had a great experience & would certainly return.
You have to wait for seats.
The order takes a while to get to the table. Water is dripping from the ceiling onto you or your plate.
The beef (dish n.1) is plastic like.
The dish n.2 is called spicy but none of us were able to eat it, and the noodles were cold (yes the dish is supposed to be cold, but it was freezing), and they refused to warm it up a little.
So you pay 80$HK for a dish were you can only eat the dumplings (which were good and warm by the way).
Very disappointed by the food, and even more by how the employees reacted (they just laughed at us because we couldn't eat the entire plate).
Quality: average
Quantity: good
Value: average
Atmosphere: not to busy and easy to get a seat at lunch time
No high chairs available.
