Hawthorn by Wyndham Erhai Parl Hotel in Dali

This hotel is in a very good location, close to shops, restaurants, supermarkets, parks, and many tourist attractions, especially Erhai Lake. Although the rooms might be a little old.
On the 7th floor, there are laundry facilities, dryers, ironing services, a fitness center, and a swimming pool. (Stayed on June 15, 2025)

Good location just opposite the Dali train station, i have a room facing it. Besides hotel has many eatery shop and rental e-motor shops, so convenient. The breakfast is also good. Room itself also modern & spacious. So i give everything 5 stars review.

The location ia the reason why i chose this hotel. 3 minutes walk to Dali Railway station via overpass. We arrive late from Lijiang and it was really convinience. There were so many shops and eateris aroud and easy to find halal food. It was also located near to Bus Terminal. However, it was quite far form Dali Acient City but that wasn’t a problem since you can always take Didi anytime. Very convinient, clean and comfy hotel. The breakfast was ok for me. Front office staff was helpful eventhough they dont speak English. We appreciate their effort using google translator.

Location is very close from railway station so it is easy to find a hotel. But cleaning was very not satisfied because I was not clean sink at all and one towel didnt change But breakfast was very good

The hotel receptionists service are definitely not up to standards. Checked in at approx. 10am, there were 3 staffs at the counter, one of them was busy handling another guest in front of me and the other 2 just stood there and watched?? No one actually approached me.. and they are stingy with their greetings as well. Given said that, i was able to check in early w/o xtra charges. Hotel fixtures and fittings were old and the lifts doesnt look like a passenger lift.
few things commendable about this hotel are their spotless beddings and scrumptious breakfast buffet.

Cleanliness and customer service can be improved further to meet Good standard. My hotel room (with double single beds) wasn’t as clean as I have expected (as compared to the ones I have stayed in Kunming) cos I could find hairs on the floor (unswept).
Location wise, it really depends on your stay objectives. Frankly speaking, the hotel venue is very far from those iconic tourist attractions such as S-Wan or Gu Cheng. However, the hotel is located just opposite Dali Railway Station, making arriving and leaving for the station a breeze.

We greatly enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Its location is very convenient as it is very near Dali Railway Station and it is also convenient to visit other tourist spots from the hotel.

Upon arrival from the Dali Railway station, you can use the pedestrian overpass (with an elevator) to cross to the opposite side and walk for around 10 minutes to reach the hotel's entrance.

No one speaks English among the hotel front desk staff but they go out of their way & patiently communicate with English speaking tourists through the google translate phone software.

To go to tourist areas from the hotel is very convenient. You can ride the public bus in front of the parking lot which is located in front of the hotel. Bus 4 will bring you to the gate of the Three Pagodas of Dali & Chongsheng Temple. Bus 8 will bring you near the North Gate of Dali Ancient City. The bus fare as of Nov 2024 is 3 yuan per person.

To go to the Erhai Lake ecological corridor, you can take a taxi (which is around 10 minutes ride) from the hotel.

The hotel also provides free bottled water to their guests. Just get the bottled water in front of the table located near the elevator.

The breakfast selection is delicious. Some tourists like us are not used to eating dishes using chopsticks. I hope the hotel could also provide spoon & fork as utensils for use by foreign tourists.

The only downside of the hotel is that as smoking is allowed everywhere, one could smell cigarette smoke in the hotel lobby and corridors.

To improve air quality, it is suggested that the hotel open the front door/windows so more fresh air could come in or perhaps, they could install air purifiers to purify the air.
