Hotel Zagreb in Karlobag

Went there on a school trip.
They have a very big problem with bugs, though it is probably caused by being located near the sea.

One of my friends had their room card broken. They had to get a new one from the receptionist. They gave him a card for all of the rooms, which is highly irresponsible because he could access any room he wanted.

Great location, great for those who want to escape from the everyday rush.

We came to this hotel by chance, because we were traveling from town to town for our vacation.
We had luck and that day we got the last room available in the hotel. Darinka at the reception arranged everything so 5 stars to her for kindness and ingenuity.

You need to know that hotel is not luxurious or even high class... Its below average and if you are looking for luxuries you won't find it here. The infrastructure that lets say works as it should, is only the needed one for operating the hotel.
Room and other parts of hotel are really poorly or not maintained. Also cleanliness is 2 stars of 5... You can find many things from former guests in the drawers, or dust on the floor.

Sorry to say that but food is terrible. We had breakfast and dinner and breakfast you can survive with bread, yogurt, marmelade, cheese or something... But dinner... lets say it was the worst experience that we had from all travels that I made. It was cold, salad wasn't clean, they lacked of knifes, it was weird. The only good thing there was helpful staff and juice and beer machine so you could drink that.

For my opinion 93€ per person with breakfast and dinner is to much if you are looking for price performance. You don't get value for money.

Surely we will come back to Karlobag, but next time we will rent an apartment or something.

Reasonable services for reasonable prices. Don’t expect luxury, but rooms are (mostly) clean and spatious, food is decent and the bar offers refreshments of mediocre quality. If you desire the highest quality, don’t expect it here. If your standards aren’t the highest, it’s a good match. Staff is friendly but (except for the reception) doesn’t speak English.

The room was good, the sea wonderfull, the pool okay, but a bit crowded. The food was okay, but because of COVID it wasn't self-service, they served everything, which was, for me at least a bit uncomfortable. The bars were only open from 11 to 19:30 which is a bit short, and even then, sometimes had to wait for service, once there was noone by the pool for the afternoon. The staff was nice. Parking is extra payable. Wifi was available in the room, but a bit slow.
