Reviews
The property has many charming reed cottages and fewer modular cabins. If you’d like to stay closer to the beach, book directly through the hotel’s website, as you can choose your cottage’s location there. This option isn’t available on Booking.com. We weren’t able to change our cottage after arrival, so with small children we had to walk quite a long way uphill every day. If you’re traveling with kids, it’s worth planning this in advance.
The food was varied, and there was always something to enjoy. I would have liked to see a bit more seafood, but overall the selection was good.
My only real complaint is the cleanliness of the glassware. The drinking glasses looked dirty. I’m sure they had been washed, but it was still unpleasant to use them. I hope the management checks the dishwashers, detergents, or replaces the equipment if necessary, because this small issue unfortunately takes away from an otherwise wonderful experience.
One more recommendation: If you’re traveling by car, don’t miss Plitvice Lakes National Park. It’s about a two-hour drive from the resort and is definitely worth visiting. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, with crystal-clear lakes and stunning waterfalls.
Unfortunately, the rooms could be cleaner. When we arrived, we found someone else’s sock under our bed.
The biggest issue, however, was the reception service. In my experience, the staff were very slow and did not seem sufficiently trained to handle important guest requests.
Two days before my flight, I arranged and paid for a taxi to the airport through reception. I received both a receipt and a voucher confirming the transfer. However, the taxi was never actually booked by the reception staff. As my flight was early in the morning and the reception was closed, there was no one available to help or fix the situation.
I was left alone with my 16-month-old child, with a flight to catch and no transport to the airport. In the end, I had to desperately ask people in the parking area if someone could drive us to the airport because I no longer had enough time to arrange another taxi.
This was an extremely unpleasant and stressful experience, especially while travelling alone with a small child. Although the resort itself is unique and has many positive aspects, such a serious mistake involving a prepaid airport transfer completely affected my overall experience.
For this reason, I am giving 1 star. When a guest pays in advance for an airport transfer and receives a receipt and voucher, they should be able to rely on the service being properly arranged.
The check-in process is far too long, with huge queues of people waiting. We were also very disappointed that changing our bungalow was apparently not possible. We immediately realised that the location did not suit us and were even willing to pay extra for a better option, but no alternative was offered. Considering the large number of bungalows in the resort, this was quite surprising.
Unfortunately, our bungalow was located right next to the restaurant area, which meant being woken up very early by deliveries, rubbish collection and other service activities. Listening to trucks, bins and unloading first thing in the morning is not exactly the relaxing holiday atmosphere we expected.
The sanitary facilities are nicely designed and generally very clean. However, the toilets often do not flush properly and the drains in the showers frequently fail to drain the water, which is extremely unpleasant.
The restaurant itself is very good, clean and well organised. However, if you stay for 10 days, the menus become repetitive, as the same dishes are served again. We were also disappointed with the drinks – the self-service drink dispensers frequently did not work properly, and the selection mainly consisted of cheap-tasting syrups rather than good-quality soft drinks. At times, the waiting time for certain dishes could also be quite long.
The resort was extremely crowded with teenagers during our stay. There was a lot of shouting and large groups creating queues almost everywhere, which significantly affected the overall atmosphere.
The beach is beautiful, but unfortunately there was quite a lot of rubbish around. Finding a sunbed can also be difficult, as many guests reserve them very early in the morning and leave them unused for long periods.
The animation team is friendly and enthusiastic, but there is simply too much shouting into microphones in the evenings. The volume and style of some evening entertainment are not particularly suitable for families with very young children. The evening programme also repeats weekly, so during our 10-day stay we ended up seeing the same shows twice.
Pine Beach has a beautiful setting and a lot of potential, but better organisation, more flexibility regarding bungalow allocation, improved maintenance and more consideration for guests seeking a relaxing family holiday would make a significant difference.
The first major disappointment came at the front desk. After accidentally losing my resort bracelet (which is made of cheap rubber and known to fall off easily), I went to report it—especially since I had loaded 19 euros onto it. When I explained the situation, the receptionist named Željka responded with a curt “What?” and then laughed at me when I mentioned the money on the bracelet. I was simply trying to ensure that if it was found, staff could match it back to our room. Her rude and dismissive attitude was completely unprofessional.
The poor service continued at the bar. Server Bruno was noticeably rude and made us wait unnecessarily. When we asked for ice cream for our children, he told us to “come back later” instead of serving us. This was especially frustrating with young kids in tow.
We traveled all the way from Canada and invested a lot of money into this holiday, expecting courteous and attentive service. Instead, these negative interactions left a sour impression and significantly detracted from our stay. Potential guests should be aware that while the setting is nice, the staff attitude does not match the price point.
