Caribbean Hotel in Santo Domingo

This hotel is rubbish. I was looking for a 7-Day stress-free little vacation getaway but when I arrived at the hotel on February 27th 1:30 p.m. my check-in time I was met with so much stress and hostility from the lady that was working at the desk on that day it was unbelievable, she sounded very angry and rude for no reason at all, and then even though I got to the hotel on time when my check in was due she told me that they was full and had no vacancies available, my mouth drops to the ground, so she referred me to a different hotel and didn't even offer to take me there by car or anything, I had to walk 10 minutes in the hot sun carrying all my luggage to their sister hotel called (Hotel Renace), and it was a dump, just when I thought the worst was over it got even worse at this new hotel they sent me to, I mean the place was outdated need it to be remodeled, there was mold on all the walls, and water drips from the ceiling where the lightbulb is in the bathroom, It's definitely not safe. I was hoping I didn't get electrocuted when I took a shower, I was greeted by mosquitoes in the lobby, and in the room they put me in, The headboard was broken on the bed, so I had to push the bed against the wall to keep the headboard from falling off, the place is dirty, I thought I just saw a bed bug crawling on my shirt while I was sitting in the room today, the AC worked good but they didn't even put a blank on the bed, just a thin sheet so I was freezing all night, it was hard to sleep like that, They could at least provide a blanket. And the best part is I don't even have a window to look outside. How depressing!, I have asthma so the mode in the room started to get to me so I had to ask can I just switched to a different room, they put me in a little better room that didn't have mold on the walls, but in this room the AC wasn't as cool and it was really loud I couldn't even hear the TV playing, the internet was very spotty in this room I couldn't enjoy watching none of my favorite apps I had brought with me on my Roku device that was in my language that I could enjoy and understand, luckily for me I also had brought with me my mobile pocket Wi-Fi modem so I was able to watch my shows that way off my phone even though it drained a lot of my data quicker than I anticipated when I was in the room, or I had to go down to the lobby and use the internet for my phone where the hotel internet was much more stronger for usage, as far as the swimming pool area goes if you want to eat or drink anything you have to buy it from their store or restaurant that they have on site next to the swimming pool, if you bring your own food or drink from somewhere else to enjoy next to the pool they won't let you bring it in the swimming pool area, which I thought sucked, this place should be condemned it should be closed down by the board of health department or something, I saw the reviews and saw it only had five stars out of 10 and I took a chance anyway go to this place, but I had no idea it was going to be worse than the five stars I seen, if I could get this place zero Stars I would, instead I'm just giving one star!!!!!, there's a reason why the price for this place is so cheap and it's still not even worth what they're asking for, if you're looking for a place to stay on booking.com I need somewhere to stay in Santo Domingo and you happen to come across this place, don't select it just run away as fast as you can and don't look back, the place smelled so musty and had like a wet dog smell all the time at least in the rooms, I couldn't take it no more I end up leaving early before my stay was up and found something else because it's not worth the stress and health!!!.😔👎🏽

1. It is a common thing that they move you to a different hotel of them even if you have never seen it before even if you don't know the location.
2. When I was trying to say to the woman in the reception that this is not right and illegal because you pay for a service that you cannot have she was insisting that they don't have availability but they confirmed my reservation
3.They don't accept credit card but from one side is normal because the room is very cheap and the most of the services in this country they don't accept credit card

Very good City location but not worthy. The place have too many issues, from cleaning to repairs. Never mind mentioning that even the running water has not pressure at all. Reason why is extremely cheap.

Disliked room wasn't clean had Flies flying in the shower no water pressure or no water at all door wasn't safe lucky I was their with my husband the price was great. But the pictures they have online don't watch nothing u see now. The service was great though.

It was my first time to stay in a private hotel in the Special Administrative Region. It feels like it is far away from the city center, but the location is closer to the residential center near Chinatown! Therefore, "eating" is much more convenient! Because we are not here to do business but to travel, many nearby attractions are very convenient to visit. Since the facilities in private hotels are old and there is often no water supply and the water pressure is very low, it is not very convenient to use. What's more, the hotel is cheap and there is no hot water supply for bathing. The weather is hot at noon, with an average temperature of about 30 degrees Celsius. Take a cold shower! However, the room has 24-hour air conditioning and refrigerator supply all day long. In short, if you want cheap hotels, you can consider choosing accommodation. By the way, there is also a free simple breakfast around nine o'clock every morning, which I highly recommend! Of course, you have to rely on Uber for transportation to get around. This area is also relatively safe and quiet at night and will not be noisy.
