Description
Gotthard Residents is a small three-star hotel established and renovated in 2012, located in a historic medieval-style building in Tallinn’s Old Town. It offers 63 rooms across three floors with a variety of room types including Economy, Standard, and Triple rooms. The hotel features a restaurant, bar, and terrace, and provides essential amenities such as WiFi, air conditioning, heating, and laundry services. Notably, some rooms have a ceramic stove, microwave, and fridge, although kitchenware is limited. The atmosphere reflects the medieval heritage of the building, with antique-style interiors and views of the historic "Three Sisters" towers or the sea. While the rooms are cozy and clean, many reviewers note they are quite small with some basement rooms lacking natural light. Service scores highly, but guests report mixed experiences with staff friendliness and reception service.

Tallinn Airport is about 5 km away, and the main railway station and port are both within 1 km, making transportation convenient. Nearby dining options include Restaurant Bonaparte OÜ (262 meters) and Hunt Kriimsilm OÜ (307 meters), both highly rated. Reviews
My room was below the ground level which suited me fine as the was no light or sound to disturb me. The room was quite charming, had a fridge, a cooking hob and a microwave so I was quite happy to be left to my own devices.
The room was clean, the shower hot and the internet fast. 37 euros for the centre of Tallinn just after tourist season? You cant beat it.
If you want a hot coffee at any time, there is a coffee machine in the lobby, just bring 1 and 2 euro coins with you.
The staff - Mike was very helpful. Left my bank card in the room and staff contacted us to return it.
Will definitely return.
I never leave negative reviews, but my experience at Gotthard Hotel Tallinn was so appalling that I felt compelled to warn others.
First and foremost, the customer service at reception is beyond shocking. When I raised a serious security concern—that the room lock doesn't work from the inside, meaning anyone could barge in while we’re asleep—the receptionist refused to take it seriously. Not only did he dismiss my concern rudely in front of other guests, but he couldn't even be bothered to get up from his chair. Completely unprofessional and utterly disrespectful.
As for the room itself—an absolute disgrace. The moment we entered, we were hit with a putrid smell, like something had died in there. There was no ventilation in the bathroom, and to top it all off, we found the toilet seat uncleaned, clearly used by previous guests. Hygiene standards are clearly nonexistent.
The bed was so tiny, it’s a miracle anyone could turn in their sleep without falling off. For the price we paid, this is not just disappointing—it’s a complete rip-off.
If you value your safety, comfort, and dignity, stay far away from this place. Tallinn is beautiful, but this hotel is a stain on its hospitality industry.
What I didn't like was our room for 3, which was tiny and really hot with no fresh air and was located on the basement therefore very noisy. We couldn't even open a window because of that weird feeling that people are walking on the top of your head. Bathroom is something weird - toilet, sink and there is no shower cabin or curtain but just stand on the floor which obviously was all wet after taking a shower. And, unfortunately, I can't say that staff is friendly. Receptionist was dressed like she just now came from the walk on her day off which doesn't make nice impression and I didn't like her attitude at all. Waiting staff doesn't smile at all even when you say good morning and smiling at them.
Oh, but do bring your own shampoo!
