Oleg
My one night stay at the Draakon hotel was okay. The location was fantastic and my room overlooking the fountain was an ideal spot (even though the fountain was blocked off and under repair for the European Capital of Culture preparations). I did feel like there were 2 people working in the whole hotel and definitely a wait to get my room and when checking out, no one was around, so I left my key at the front desk and left. I don't think the cleaning was great. I found a bobby pin on the floor in my room which makes me think maybe they weren't vacuuming, as well as a towel in the sauna, which I think was left over from another guest. The minibar was missing a lot of items from the list, so I don't think that is checked regularly and the included breakfast I found not great. It was fine for a one night stay and as said, the location is great, but I would probably not stay for more than a night or two.
First impression upon arrival: is the hotel open or closed? The front door does not close and it squeaks, which shows that nobody cares about maintenance and has not done so for a very long time. Lobby was dark (yes, I understand that they are trying to save energy, but still).
Absolutely terrible attitude and service by an older couple. The wifi was dead slow (to the point of unusable). The password in the room was for a router that did not cover the room. When I asked the receptionist about it, they said it was correct and asked me to restart my phone. Well, no difference. My computer picked up a weak signal, but another router had a stronger signal, which is why I asked in the first place. I was very impolitely told off to "go to your conference". Later when I came back, they had actually checked the signal in my room and admitted that the signal was weak and suggested I use one of the city wifi connections instead. They also claimed that they cannot do anything about the wifi and that they have their free time until 14 o'clock.
The bathroom was not clean when I arrived and not two days later either when I left the hotel. The dead old spider, flies and web shows that it had not been cleaned for ages.
The breakfast was good, however, managed by an old man that could barely keep his pants up from falling down.
Advice to management: replace yourselves, along with the staff. If the management are the owners of the hotel - sell it to someone who knows how to run a hotel properly. Draakon actually has good potential, however, it needs to be run by someone who cares.
Having stayed at hundreds of hotels, this was really a terrible experience, especially considering the high price.
I'd love to go there again❤️❤️
