Budget Hotel Easystay

I dont know why this hotel should not deserve 5 stars... its location, cleanliness, amenities.. all were perfect.. the only downside is the distance of the hotel from the public transport.. but everything else greatly matched expectations...

Decent room, quiet and clean.

How can people rate this cozy and well-equipped hotel (my room had tea/coffee making amenities and a fridge!) less than 4 stars? For the money, given the country we are in it’s just fantastic! Hotel’s Achilles’ heel is the distance from the old center in case you are on foot and it’s a cold Winter outside (it’s around 20 minute walk, so doable in any case). Other than that everything is just brilliant. For a short stay in Porvoo, that is.
Yeah, the Wi-Fi signal in the room could have been better. But if you are traveling in Finland you should have bought the 4G SIM card for €5 anyway (and if you are local, you have it).
There are just two saunas for dozens of rooms but during my stay I was able to book couple of shifts without issues. The sauna had towels, etc.
The only thing you’d need to have is slippers.
But again those things are negligible in view of all niceness, coziness, cleanliness and incredible value that this hotel offers.

This place is about 25 minutes walking from old town Porvoo, and like many hotels in Finland, there’s no air conditioning only fans. But if the weather is nice it’s a lovely walk and the rooms will feel very comfortable. There’s plenty of space (by European standards) with your own private bathroom! The customer service is outstanding with friendly and helpful staff, there is a receptionist working there during the day. It’s nestled in a quiet beautiful area away from the bustle of the city. The breakfast is optional (available for an extra fee) so you don’t pay for anything you don’t need. It’s an excellent way to save money and still be very close to everything. I highly recommend it for the thrifty traveler who enjoys walking and doesn’t mind warmer temperatures in the summer. Transportation tip: there are city bikes easy to rent through an app in porvoo BUT they are terrible on the cobblestone roads and become a burden to push through old town so unless you rent it for a day or two and always park it where the concrete starts, we wouldn’t recommend it for getting between this hotel and downtown.
