La Ferme Saint Simeon in Honfleur

An incredibly special stay for our honeymoon made perfect by the Concierge, Laurent, and his team. Wonderful food at La Boucane, and excellent drinks in the bar. We can’t wait to come back.

St Simeon is a lovely property. We had a nice ground floor room , suitable for our dog with outdoor access. Very dog friendly! Very clean and well looked after by the housekeeping team. Good bathroom with proper tub. Service was polite, although some of the staff needed a bit more training. The bar in particular was a bit amateur. The restaurant (Boucane) was excellent, tip top. Well done to the entire team at Boucane! Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Good to see proper cornflakes included as a cereal option. Our main criticism was lack of storage space in the room. One drawer to share bordered on the absurd. The shower was too big, a sort of hammam affair. When they built the bathroom, they probably took out cupboard space to make room for the vast shower area which was a shame. Good traditional bath tub - with lots of hot water -was splendid. The lighting system was over-complicated, a common complaint these days. What happened to the simple "on and off” switch? It was rather dark too, especially for reading in the room. There seems to be a generation of hotel architects who believe lighting should be subdued, who clearly do not read books in hotel rooms and who have no clothes to store when they travel. We are seeing this more and more even in there most expensive five star hotels. The parking charge (30 euros a night) was cheeky. I don’t recall having been warned about that in advance. I imagine that most guests arrive by car - so why don't they just add this to the room rate rather than spring an unpleasant extra?

Outstanding stay slightly affected by a feeling to get charged for unnecessary details. Service and calm are remarkable. It’s very rare to find a relais chateaux where you cannot access to the spa. Here one had to pay 220 euro. It’s simply too much.

We had a lovely stay at La Ferme Saint Simeon. We enjoyed the stunning property and meals at Le Boucane. The food was exceptional and the staff was so helpful. I would definitely visit again!

Clearly a top quality property and staff. Our room was very comfortable and enjoyed a large (enormous) bathroom with Italian shower. Food was delicious, nicely prepared and beautifully served. Grounds are superb and the new Spa Potager will be a tremendous addition to La Ferme. We especially appreciate the warm welcome we and our "petite chien" received.

We had a great experience this time, with attentive staff and a notable improvement in our breakfast preparation and execution.

Lovely building and nicely appointed. We arrived in a 41 year old Rolls Royce which developed a hydraulic leak. The man who greeted us could not have been more helpful. He found a local garage, rang them, got hold of the right fluid which we picked up the following morning. Both kind and very helpful. Equally his colleague, the male receptionist, was also extremely helpful. We stayed in Chambre 55 where we enjoyed the views, a lovely bath and a steam shower. Please pass my personal thanks to both the receptionist and concierge for help with the car. Would return again if the opportunity arose.

From arrival to checking out, the team were warm and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is in a great location, only a 15 minutes stroll into the town. It’s a place we will be revisiting and the hotel will be our number one choice.

Great stay, beautiful rooms and Normandy character. Lovely staff and attention to detail. Loved the real log fires. Breakfast was great quality too. Hope to stay again soon!
