The hotel building and lobby are beautiful. The location is perfect . The layout of the hotel is somewhat confusing until one figures it out. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean but it felt needing renovation. Windows were not cleaned for a long time and I was afraid to open them. Crakes in the bathroom floor. The room was spacious but the bathroom and the toilet occupy 1/3 of the room with little space left for the wardrobe. The electrical outlets were all near the floor and under the night stand. Was ok for us but thinking of the older guests, it may be a problem needing to lay down on the floor to plug them . Overall, we were happy with our stay.

Historic Building Converted to Hotel
Described as a "Flamboyant Gothic House" built in the 16th century, now converted to a hotel right in the middle of the historic part of Rouen. Seemed as if rooms (particularly ours, room 110) were carved out of available space- not our typical business hotel room but quite enchanting. Beautiful public spaces and excellent cleanliness. Staff were extremely helpful, moving our car to their lot and helping with luggage.
Negatives were not enough power outlets in the room and limited things to do in Rouen. Natural history museum was closed for renovations, which we found out after a long walk. Don't think Rouen is worth another visit.

A very comfortable, conveniently located hotel. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. The black and red decor in the lobby is a bit strident and navigating the hallways and the elevators is a bit tricky. I think that they should try to make the public areas more welcoming. Other than that, we had a very pleasant stay.

The hotel is very convenient for the old town and is just minutes alj from the Gros Horloge. We had a room overlooking the courtyard which was very quiet and beautifully furnished. The spa is quite amazing for a hotel facility. The staff were all very charming and helpful. We had a most enjoyable 3 night stay.

What a gorgeous hotel with a nice staff. The lobby is amazing.
However, the room amenities are lacking, the air conditioning or the fan are not working, the TV just has basic french channels, forget Netflix or other services (no smart tv). Despite booking the prestige suite, it comes with an LG 42" Tv model whose production label read 2010 (this is 2025).
The room service had half of its menu not available and what was available required substitutions, without lowering down the price.
In all and all it's a Marriott Hotel with the Marriott premium price, without the Marriott experience.
I would not recommend a stay at those prices

We came to Rouen for a funeral and decided to pick a "5 star" hotel in an attempt to lift our spirits even though the price was a almost 400€ for the night which is a staggering sum for Rouen in the middle of January.  This was a mistake and I implore all of you to save your money and go elsewhere.  The room was very aesthetic, being the largest one they have, but don't expect any type of view out of your window.  The Tv in the room is a very old 42" LG tv from 2010 (we are in 2025).  It's not a smart tv and there were only the most basic of french tv channels.  We called the front desk in hopes they could at least give us an HDMI cable to connect to our laptop, but of course they don't have one.  Let's skip over the enormous insect we encountered in the 2nd floor hallway and go straight to our food experience.  They have a "restaurant" on premises "L'Aumale" that was completely empty (you'll understand why soon) so we decided to have room service that comes from the same menu/kitchen.  Some options on the menu were greyed out so we choose very simple meals: filet mignon and chicken with a side cheese plate.  They had to call the room back a couple off times to say they had to make substitutions which seemed very odd for a "5 star" hotel.  I was finally relieved to get our food which we expected that we would enjoy watching our small laptop screen.  Relieved until I tried to cut and chew the filet.  It was very fatty and extremely chewy.  Two bites put me off the entire dish.  The chicken dish was very dry so we didn't eat that either.  Thank goodness we ordered the cheese plate or else we would have had no food (for 80€+).  Pick another place.  We could have picked any other place for 200€ less and ordered out from one of the shops and had a much better experience.

We had a delightful experience at this hotel. Located in a prime spot, the historical building is within a 3-5 minute walk from all major attractions and numerous restaurants. The customer service was impeccable—all staff members were kind, courteous, and went above and beyond on their service. We felt extremely welcomed and valued throughout our stay. The breakfast was excellent, offering a good variety of hot and cold dishes, along with many fruit and bread options. The pools and fitness center were clean and well-maintained, complemented by a nice sauna and hammam. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and would love to return!

The good: an amazing experience staying in your own castle. This is a historical building converted to a quaint hotel; including restaurant, swimming pool and spa. Very courteous staff provided excellent service throughout our stay. Great location near restaurants, shopping and attractions.

We received an upgrade to a junior suite as Marriott Platinum, which also included the breakfast buffet. Upon arrival the staff wrote us a personal note with some chocolate to welcome us.

The bad: none.

The meh: a quibble that the TV hasn’t yet been upgraded to the latest entertainment offering, so is just a TV without being able to watch streaming services or mirror your device.

Fabulous stay ( Oct 4th) in Hotel De Bourgtheroulde, Rouen. Beautiful location amongst the cobbled streets of Rouen. The hotel itself is simply stunning. The facilities are great . We had an evening meal in the hotel's restaurant which was delicious. Many thanks to the whole hotel team for making our stay perfect.
