Robbie on front desk is amazing, shorted everything out and made it super easy. The accommodation is livable. The bunk beds arnt as comfy as the sofa bed. Also the sheets aren’t cleaned throughly as I found blood stains on one of the pillows.

Stayed 1 week off-season, fortunately there were not many people there. Rooms are "russian hotel class", a bit rough and unclean, allround condition and exterior cladding falling apart but will do as a bare minimum place to rest between skidays. Walls are "paper" thin so when neighbor snores, fu**s or far*s you get to enjoy them too so remember to bring your earplugs if your not really in to them...

The property was very nice even though his older the apartment building it was super clean. the receptionist was very friendly gave me great food options always ready to answer anything that I needed. Thank you 😊

I love this hotel. The decor and location are both fantastic. I have stayed here before and loved every aspect. However, this time I found the breakfasts really disappointing. The scrambled eggs were solid every day and cold. The pancakes were also cold. I had to clear my own table each day in order to sit down and eat. There is no decaffeinated coffee available. Super cosy hotel in a great location - most bad reviews here seem to be from people complaining about staff. We've had no trouble from staff ourselves, so it may be a case of polite people getting polite treatment, and impolite people being dealt an equal hand. We booked the Mountain View room with a loft and balcony. The layout was great with two full bathrooms (one with a tub and the other with a rain-style showerhead). Excellent Hotel, my second visit in two years, staff great, private shuttle great, Ski room excellent. Rooms refreshing and clean. Bar service can be slower than hoped sometimes, and breakfast can be a wait. That said, don't let either of then stop yu going!

They were so friendly and so accommodating! They literally put your ski boots on for you and dry them once you get back, even if you don’t rent from them! The shuttles are effortless and just make the whole experience stress free and convenient

You absolutely won’t get better service than this hotel. The accommodation is fabulous. The location is fabulous. We have visited more than 50 five star hotels and this one is by far the best. If there is availability, book it, you will not be disappointed!

Fantastic hotel, homely and cosy located right in the middle of the town! 5 minute walk to the main gondula. Lovely friendly staff, on reception and in the bar. Not fussy. Staff was over the top. The navette service was really helpful when travelling with a baby and for skiing that came in handy. Wellness area an massages were excellent, very clean, very handy and very modern.

Perfectly located hotel, lovely ambience and well run. They only nly provide bed and breakfast, but that suits us well with so many restaurants in Val.

Very nice hotel in an excellent location within walking distance to the lifts and town. Staff is extremely friendly. They have a ski room with boot dryers to store your equipment at the end of the day. Breakfast is included and they offer a good assortment of options. The rooms are very clean. Would stay here again on a future trip.

I can highly recommend this hotel. We stayed here for our week long ski trip and the location, cleanliness and service were excellent. The obvious downside is that there are no lifts but we did not find this to be a big problem as the stairs and room are relatively close. The rooms are super clean, breakfast is very good, the bar has a nice atmosphere and the service is superb. Can easily walk to the piste or the bus stop is very close. Would highly recommend and hope to stay there again.

The restaurant is fantastic. Fondue was absolutely LIFECHANGING! Had the mushroom fondue and the regular one. Never had such good fondue in my life. Wow. amazing. Also had the raclette with the 6 choices which was lovely. They give extra toppings to try but the cheese was great on its own! Came in a cool potato bag which kept them warm. Had dinner here tonight. The mushroom soup was fabulous as was the raclette. The only recommendation i have is to order half the quantity that is recommended. Raclette for 2 could have fed four.

I organised a group of 8 people to visit Val D'Isere and stayed at the Avancher last week (Jan 2026). Been going every year for 10 years now. It is a great place for couples, families , friends. The staff is amazing. Amazing experience, food isn’t going to win awards but there was always enough and you needed it at the end of a long ski day. The experience was amazing, the teachers are world class. Had a fun week snowboarding here. Great UCPA crew and instructor, and the best snow condition you can ask for in April. The rooms are a bit old, almost no wifi, so get yourself enough roaming data here. Food is good, a lot of varieties at every meal. Worn rooms that get very cramped when full. I can't understand that there are so many empty walls without hooks or shelves. Only one hook per person is not enough when you come home with wet ski clothes. This seems to be standard practice at UCPA and it would be so easy to solve! i stayed in thios beautiful hotel for 3 nights while visiting my daughter who was working in town for the season . On arrival , i was upgraded to a junior suite which was a very pleasant surprise.
