Alberta Hotel & Spa in Val Thorens

We had a brilliant stay at Hotel Alberta & Spa in Val Thorens and honestly felt the 3-star rating undersells the place. The hotel itself is lovely, particularly the dining and lounge areas which are beautifully decorated and create a really warm alpine atmosphere after a day on the slopes. The cleanliness throughout the hotel is exceptional – the housekeeping team clearly take great pride in their work as everything is spotless. The staff are one of the real highlights. Everyone we encountered was extremely friendly, welcoming and attentive. A special mention to Mylène on reception, who was incredibly helpful throughout our stay and always happy to assist with anything we needed. The food exceeded our expectations. Both breakfast and dinner were superb, with a great choice and quality that you’d normally expect in a much higher-rated hotel. The location is excellent for skiing. The ski-in, ski-out access is fantastic, especially if you’re comfortable finishing the day with a gentle blue run back into the resort. If there’s one small point, it’s that the rooms and bathrooms are on the smaller side, but they are still perfectly comfortable and very well maintained. Overall, this hotel offers unbelievable value for money. The service, food and overall experience genuinely feel closer to a 4-star hotel, if not more. We would happily stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Val Thorens

We're a family with grown-up kids (in their 20's). The location is perfect. Ski-straight-out, right at the top of the central valley where all runs converge to. The atmosphere - warm, cosy, chill. Staff - more than anything, this is what made our stay so lovely: everybody X everybody was so friendly, familiar, always trying to help, always with a smile. Rooms were a bit small but enough, cosy, the cute small balcony serving as our refrigerator (one of the only things lacking). Price was way more sensible than any other hotel we looked at. The only noise was that of the snow machines and plows on the slope - worth the location though!

We had such a great time staying at Alberta Hotel! The location is hard to beat — you can literally step out the door and be on the slopes, and it’s only a short walk to the ski school and little shops. Super convenient. The team at the hotel were just lovely. Everyone we spoke to was friendly and genuinely helpful, always making time for a quick chat or to answer questions. It felt really warm and welcoming from the get-go. Food-wise, we were really happy. Breakfast had plenty of options (and good coffee, which always matters), and dinners were hearty and satisfying after a long day in the snow. Not wildly fancy, but just what we needed. Our room was simple but spotless, and the view of the mountains was a real treat to wake up to. Nothing flashy, but totally comfortable and quiet — exactly what you want after a day on the go. And the spa... wow. So nice to sink into the hot tub and look out over the snowy peaks — absolute bliss after skiing. It was such a relaxing way to end each day. All in all, Alberta Hotel gave us a really relaxed, no-fuss, high-comfort kind of stay. Great value for the location and service. Ideal for anyone who wants easy access to the slopes and a chilled-out vibe. We'd 100% stay again.

The hotel is in a great location and has excellent facilities. The food was fantastic and the staff were brilliant. The spa with views over the slopes is great after an energetic day skiing. The ski-in/ski-out is for all levels of skier. We have had a great stay and will book again for next year.

A fantastic located Hotel with ski in/out facility. The half board offering is outstanding supported by an amazing chef. All staff are exemplary making you feel very welcome. Although the bathrooms could do with an uplift the rooms overall are comfortable and the piste/mountain views make the stay even better. A special mention to Eymeric who served us in the restaurant most days, so polite, welcoming and friendly he is a real asset to the Hotel.

The hotel is in a great ski in/out location and the common areas have all been recently updated so are very modern. The bar/restaurant and food is all acceptable for a average priced hotel in Val T as long as you aren't expecting fine dining. The staff were all lovely and service is great. The rooms have not been updated yet so are slightly older and very small but overall the positives outweigh this.

We will be back, such a warm friendly boutique hotel. Fabulous location, village on one side, mountain on the other. The Spa is such a surprise treat, looking right out on the slopes. Rooms are small and basic but spotless and comfy bed. Staff first class. My daughter was unwell during our trip and there is nothing worse than feeling sick and away from home. However we felt so at home and really the team could not have been better, nothing was an issue and felt safe and supported.

Excellent location and friendly staff. Very good food with super restaurant service! The location is amazing right next to the slope. Easy access to the lifts and shops. We were a group of 9 adults and we would recommend this to anyone considering staying in Val Thorens!

Amazingly helpful and friendly staff. This is a lovely boutique hotel with pleasant Spa area, comfortable (albeit fairly compact) rooms and tasty restaurant menu. Great ski in/ski out with the boot room leading straight onto the lift area. Would not hesitate to stay here again
