With a heavy heart, we had to cut our stay short by two days due to ongoing issues that were never resolved. Sadly, this was definitely one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in. Our room was located directly above the restaurant area, and the constant noise late into the night and early morning meant we had broken sleep for four consecutive nights. As we were on a skiing trip, being so sleep-deprived was not only frustrating but genuinely unsafe on the slopes. After struggling through several nights, we simply couldn’t continue. We raised concerns about the noise twice during our stay, but no meaningful action was taken. On the day we arranged to leave, we were offered complimentary ear plugs — I’m not sure whether this was meant to be a solution, a joke, or an insult after four sleepless nights. It was also only on the day we checked out that we were offered an alternative room for the final night — unfortunately, far too late to make any difference. To make matters worse, as it was half term and the resort was completely full, finding alternative accommodation locally was not possible. We were therefore forced to leave the resort entirely at considerable additional cost, cutting our holiday short. The room itself was also disappointing in terms of layout. The bathroom was extremely small, and although the toilet was separate — which can sometimes be convenient — in this case it made little sense. Splitting the space resulted in both the bathroom and the WC being tiny and cramped, making them uncomfortable to use. Breakfast each morning was equally disappointing. The dining area felt overcrowded, with tables crammed tightly together and barely enough space to move between the table and the buffet. Service, while polite, seemed disorganised. We repeatedly had to ask staff for hot drinks, and although staff appeared willing, there seemed to be a clear lack of direction and leadership. The absence of a proper cooking station was also very poor. Most concerning was the attitude at checkout. The receptionist was argumentative and showed little empathy when we explained why we were leaving early. Inexperienced and confrontational staff should not be heading up front of house. First impressions and final interactions matter enormously. I would strongly recommend the hotel take a hard look at its training policies regarding customer service and guest interaction. If you are planning to stay here, I would strongly advise ensuring you are not allocated a first-floor room above the restaurant area. We truly wanted this trip to be relaxing and enjoyable, but unfortunately our experience fell far below expectations.
