Tonic Hôtel du Louvre

Geographically this hotel is perfectly position for travelling around Paris, however, the hotel in general is very rundown. The decor is old and dark, the room we had was small with everything crammed in. Yes, there were two single beds, a fridge, coffee machine and a basic bathroom but the room was so small. The bathroom was adequate, but forget having a soak in the bath because the plug does not work, the shower was adequate, but overall for the amount of money you pay I expected more than what we got. Would I go back there? Probably not because in terms of value for money, that hotel falls way below what I expected. If I wanted to go cheap then a hostel would have been appropriate, and possibly may have been a better experience.

My advice is simple, the owners should spend more money on the place and freshen up and also make sure that the things you have work, and work well.

The central air conditioning was not working, so we were given a small air conditioner that was set at 16 degrees Celsius and despite keeping the room cool, it was not adequately strong enough to make the room 16 degrees, so it ran all night whilst we were sleeping.

Fortunately my daughter and I enjoyed Paris so much that the accommodation was a small irritation in the overall scheme of things.

I hope that the owners will take what I have said to heart and really make that hotel a stunning place to stay, because as I said, geographically it’s perfectly positioned!

The hotel is quite old and bedroom was not good with very old furniture. Location is very convenient but apart from that hotel has very few amenities
