We had a quick visit to Montpellier—just 2 days and 1 night—and our stay at the hotel was perfect for the trip.
Check-in was smooth and friendly. Initially, we were given a room on the 4th floor, but there was an unpleasant smell (possibly from the sewer). We reported it to reception, and they immediately moved us to a room on the 5th floor—great service.
The room was standard, just like other Ibis hotels we’ve stayed in. What really stood out was the location—right in the heart of Montpellier, which made it easy to explore the city on foot. The lobby was inviting, and breakfast was simple but enjoyable—perfect for a relaxed morning.
Overall, the room itself was typical of a 3-star hotel, but the staff made it feel more like a 4-star experience.
It’s a real shame because everything else about this hotel is fantastic except for the godawful hospital/torture chamber feeling aah rooms -which are the thing you pay for at a hotel . They could hand out gold bars at reception, but it’ll still be a bad hotel if the rooms leave me feeling so unsafe and uncomfortable that I can’t get a good night’s rest.
