Great location and affordable price, but the room itself was quite disappointing. It was very small, and the “double bed” was actually two single beds pushed together — not ideal for a couple. Our room was at the very top of the building, and while showering, we could hear people doing laundry or cleaning outside the room. The shower setup was just a handheld sprayer inside a bathtub, which made it awkward to use and left water everywhere. The AC didn’t work, which made things even less comfortable. I’m giving it three stars only because it was extremely cheap and right in the center — otherwise, it would have been lower.

Fantastic location and warm welcoming staff. We had a wonderful view of the palace entrance, which was only a 30 second walk away. Everything you would typically want in a room was already there without having to ask the staff. Beds were comfortable, including the pull-out couch. Plenty of coffee in the room.

The room is large and was clean. The bed linens were very worn and the coverlet would disintegrate when touched. The shower only had warm water at night, but was hot in the morning. After a long day exploring the city not having a hot shower was disappointing. Our first night the room was quiet, the second noisy trucks were passing by. Maybe it was trash day...

An antiquated fancy hotel dating back to the 18th century. Enjoyed the novelty of staying in a room that more than 200 hundred years old. The view outside the window was wonderful facing the Palais des Papes. The room was little small and not too comfortable given the age of the building

We fell in love with this charming hotel and the lovely staff that worked there! They made every effort to make us comfortable and welcomed. The location is amazing. Yes there were light bulbs out and the air conditioning was broken but we survived it and slept with the windows open, laughing at the early morning noise. The charm of the hotel won us over completely.

You do need to know to park at the Palais des Papes parking lot and travel light as you have to drag your luggage across the cobble stones. There is a classic old European elevator. Travel light.

The servers at the restaurant downstairs, however, were rude. Everyone else was delightful! I’d go back again!

Stunning historic building in great location. Staff were friendly and helpful and all spoke great English.

Enjoyed our stay. We rented two rooms One was newly remodeled Ours was older but freshly done up with beamed ceilings. So fun to be in a quaint historic building above a restaurant. Parking was easy and elevator delivered us in front of Palais des Papes a short walk to our hotel .

Directly sited across the palace, nice view and very central. Parking in the garage next to the hotel possible. Height limit of the car 1.90m sharp.

The hotel is at the heart of Avignon, couldn't be better situated. It's a beautiful building in sand stone and has this Middle Ages and Gothic feel.

Staff was very friendly, the cuisine was ok. The food was good and tasty, the menu I found a bit boring.

The hotel lacks maintenance however. The lift didn't work, no batteries in the remote, no light in the gangway, there was AC but a very noisy mobile model.

There is no bar, and no vending machine either. At 22h, everything is closed in Avignon.

Everything was clean though, the water in the shower warm and the internet good.

All in all, I had a good stay.
