The staff were extremely helpful, and the location offers excellent access to Marseille Saint-Charles Station. The food was great as well. I would highly recommend Toyoko Inn for anyone visiting Marseille.

Some members of the security staff were not very welcoming. Both the night and morning guards were quite intrusive, at times bordering on aggressive, which affected the overall experience.

Arriving from the Marseille bus station, we were not sure how to get to the hotel without climbing the steps. See photo. Later on, when I asked reception staff, he says we could go the opposite direction to the train station without using the steps. Our room was not clean properly, toilet stains etc when we arrived. We enjoyed the sauna though and close amenities like Carrefour however.

Clean, everything in order, amazing bed, working kitchen and coffee machine absolutely amazing. The window was directly on the street on the ground floor, and was possible to open it from outside. For security reasons I'd recommend the hostel to check a bit on that, particularly on room 4. It's good they had a safe and all to keep anything of value still.

The restaurant is very nice and cute. The food was amazing — everything we tried was delicious. The Steve Molinari fish soup was one of the best dishes we’ve ever had. The rooms were very clean and the outdoor space was full of games and a nice sized pool. The only issue, for an American, is that the rooms were very small and the bathroom was tiny. The beds were pushed together to make the most of the space around them. If you are travelling alone, this is fine. If you are sharing the room with someone, make sure you really like them.
