Le Richelieu in Le Havre

Our story in a nut shell. Our car broke down right in front of the hotel (thank God) the receptionist came out and helped us push it in a parking spot across the street. After a long day driving from the south it was great to find a modest but clean accomodation with suh a generous and warm welcome. We had a family room six flights of stairs up. I can imagine with our luggage it would have been a work out 😉 but we decided to leave all in our car for the night. Our receptionist was really friendly and helpful making reservations at a wonderful restaurant that night and advised me well the following morning in other matters.
The rooms are good value for the money. The location is supreme. No elevator is no problem for us but if you are not as young or mobile I would request a room on the first floor instead.

Fresh easy light breakfast, small room and bathroom, no elevator, carry bags up stairs. Good location. Good stay for value.

The staff is nice, the room is good and clean. Do not expect it to be top class. It's a clean, cosy and inexpensive room but I had an issue with the shower. I am 170cm and the shower was kind of small. I can not bend down to clean my legs. Be creative while taking shower tall people and it's Not very far from the train and bus station.

Nice small establishment with good Wi-Fi and poor sound isolation. Liked the atmosphere. No ham nor eggs for breakfast (croissants, jam and coffee).

Jessica S., Hi, I don't know if there were different owners when you stayed, or what went on when you stayed, however, I just checked out today from a 3 day stay & I had an extremely difficult & better experience than you & your family. I was warmly greeted by one of the owners who speaks fluent English when I arrived in the afternoon, also after traveling to get there. I was originally put on the 2nd floor but as the owner saw I had too much luggage and there is no elevator he moved me to a room on the first with no charge. The room itself was a little cold and the heater in the room didn't work so he brought me a small portable personal heater. Also, When almost every store was closed on a Sunday, I had no food to eat & needed to get anything to eat from a store, he walked me over to just about the only store that was open to make sure I found it and didn't get lost. He also helped me translate labels, as I don't speak any French at all. As for their food, I cannot speak to it as I never ate it. The hotel is basic, but very clean and safe, free wifi. For the money you really can't do much better (except maybe for an elevator). Sorry, you had such a bad experience.
