A friend left a backpack at this restaurant, and the owner demanded payment to return it. My friend offered GEL$30, but the owner insisted on GEL $100 to release the backpack. The owner’s attitude was extremely rude. The restaurant’s menu does not clearly list prices, and it seems the owner arbitrarily sets them. I absolutely do not recommend dining at this restaurant.

We were here for the Taxi service - 120 gel for a taxi to the glacier. Also used them for a taxi to Mestia for 180 gel (60 per person). Finally we had some great red wine pitcher. The view from the terrace is great.

Review is for the restaurant. We were waiting FOR EVER for Kchinkali and when they finally arrived they were mediocre. Staff a bit rude as well. View on the other hand - amazing. Good place to have a cold beer after the walk to the glacier.

Avoid!
So many bad things here it's amazing.
All the village comes here during day and night. Playing and shouting all the time. Rooms have no noise isolation so good luck sleeping early.
There are only hand towels. No body towels
Dinner was mediocre at best.
Shower is tiny. Drainage was clogged and I had to open it middle shower because it was overflowing.
There is no place in shower to put anything and even if there was it would get wet because there is no curtain to block the water.
No toilet paper holder next to toilet you need to find a place to put it so it will be safe when you shower.
No internet. It keeps disconnecting every two minutes.
Wish we were in a different hotel.
And floor is squeaky I can here every step the room above us make

Staying at this hotel was an unforgettable experience. Surrounded by stunning mountain views and fresh air, it’s the perfect place to relax and recharge. The room was clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated, and the staff made us feel genuinely welcome from the start.

The food was homemade and delicious — especially the local dishes. Every meal felt like a warm hug after a day of exploring. Whether you’re a nature lover or just need a peaceful escape, this place is a hidden gem. I’m already looking forward to coming back.❤️❤️

I have stayed in Ushguli twice now. The first time, we got a ride from a guy in a lady Neva who crashed through waterfalls and the second time we hiked through the mountains. Great, historic towers set amongst the rivers and valleys. Hearty breakfast and great company, a welcome rest for tired feet.

there are better and cheaper hotels in Ushguli. tiny rooms, you can hear every neighbor talking. Prices for transfers to the glacier or for renting horses will be doubled for tourists compared to local prices.

The only reason for the 2-star rating instead of a 1-star is because they offer private bathrooms and have rooms upstairs with a good view of Shkhara. Otherwise, the wifi barely worked for like 5 minutes...anywhere inside the guest house area. The manager had a shady behaviour. We paid for dinner and breakfast but told her that we won't have dinner at 2pm or even earlier so that she doesn't have to cook for us. She asked where we are going to have dinner but didn't even bother to refund us the extra dinner costs. The breakfast was abysmal. Having coffee/tea was a complete chaos. She also gave us wrong info about the distance from Mestia to Mazeri and was asking for 30 Gel more than the usual taxi fare even when we took the ride from Ushguli to Mestia. Their taxi fare to Shkhara glacier was also more than usual, 120 Gel return instead of 100.
Even the neighbours don't seem to like this guesthouse and its people. Someone called the police on them.
The tourists staying at this hotel also gave a bad vibe. If you are a trekker, don't stay here because it is usually occupied by those tourists who have a high nose and would give you looks for wearing regular clothes and looking like you trekked rather than taking a car. They won't even bother to look at the beautiful Shkhara mountain in the morning because they need to leave early wearing fancy dresses.
I regret cancelling my booking at Angelina's and staying here instead. Her daughter offered us her WiFi just so that we can cancel the booking. We ended up having the dinner here which was the best decision of the day. We saw sunset on Shkhara while having dinner outside at Angelina's.

"Hotel" is a bit of an exaggeration. They offer rooms with bathrooms - i.e. not hostel style shared facilities. The owner is helpful and speaks good English. Food was ok. There is also a small shop which is relatively well stocked. They claim free WiFi, but I could not get it to work. The beds aren't very good, the doors to the rooms don't close well, the toilet was leaking water. The toilet and shower combo is not my favorite. Also as opposed to other places we've stayed at in Svaneti, the owner did not offer a small snack with the tea, and charged separately for fruit (1 Lari per piece), etc.
